I love this game. I wish it'd gotten more traction. Sadly exploration of the many mysteries and branching paths often lead to dead ends instead of new clues, more story or resolutions. I'd wish for a more fleshed out version of this game. Maybe a sequel? Anyway! I still fully recommend this game! I had a lot of fun with it!
pretty good game. didn't play it for that long tho
Playtester, Yippie :)
How have I not left a review for this game? It's a masterpiece! If you're into narrative games with a twist, you'll find a really good one in Title_Pending. The game is built around a meta narrative, just like how their previous game (Watching Paint Dry) was, and also not unlike The Stanley Parable. If I'm sitting here directly comparing it to The Stanley Parable, I should also say that this game is not TSP. It offers different vibes, and it has a definitive end to it. Very good stuff. Personal GOTY back when it released when it comes to this type of game. It's been a hot minute. Imma play it again.
it's fine. if you've played the stanley parable or other things like it this'll feel a little bit trite and derivative, but a decent game for an hour.
i loved the pacing of this game and the amount of hidden lore bits that you could find LITERALLY laying on the floor!!! It also helps that the narrator's voice acting is good and i can feel joy when I ragebait him ... but yeah this is so peak I reccomend it heavy
Better than The Stanley Parable. Short game but fun.
A short (2h~) pleasant experience. If you like Stanley Parable, you'll like this too. Bought it at -90% and it's definitely worth more than that. Even the full price is already cheap.
Story
It's the key highlight if the game, this game is a narrative experience like Stanley Parable. The story is pretty interesting and pretty lore-driven while the writing is full of references, easter eggs, and clever jokes. Not to mention it's being delivered with a very good voice acting! When I said it is lore-driven, the plot doesnt explain a lot of background knowledge such as the origin of why the events of the game happen? what's going on in the final act? or what's the motivation of the antagonist if there's any? and the only answers you'll get for these are on their next game. which means it's building up to quite a universe which is fine. Unfortunately, all of the background characters aren't properly introduced and hard to track. They do have their own story and timeline soif you're intereste, do pay attention.
Gameplay
Gameplay looks like a walking simulator (it probably is) but persnally, it didn't feel like walking simulator, it can be quite interactive and creative too. I never felt lost too much and you can easily find your way back easily. You can also explore and find some interesting tibits, lore, and secrets too.
Music/sound
Not much I can say about the general SFX except it's fine and nothing felt awful to hear. I do like the soundtrack. I said previously that the voice acting is very good and the key highlight of this game.
Conclusion
For a short and cheap game, it is a must try if you like these games. This game will be related to their next game and their next game (Finklestein) is shaping up to be a very interesting experience and their demo itself is already phenomenal.
