Gentle puzzle with a lovely polly pocket vibe. Some strategy is needed to get all the plants and seeds required.
What an incredible little gem of a game this is! I'm not sure if I've ever seen another game that revolves around collecting things that is this cozy and 100 % stress-free. The gameplay loop of turn-based farming is fun and relaxing, the visuals are absolutely charming and the whole idea of "playing with a miniature toy" was transformed from a real toy to a video game way better than I could've imagined. I wish the game was a bit longer, but that is just because of how much fun I had with it!
I feel bad about "not recommending" this. The art style is very charming, but the core gameplay loop is not for me. it's not particularly compelling, and it lands in a weird uncanny valley where it's too involved to be a low thought relaxation game, but not involved enough to be actually compelling. I was really excited by the classic polly pocket vibes of this but it just fell through for me
Bought this game expecting a chill decorating game but actually locked in trying to unlock all the plants and didn't care that much about the decorating in the end because the puzzle element is way more fun. 8/10 forgot I was alive for 7 hours
i was pleasantly surprised with the gameplay. i thought it was more of a sandbox idler that you'd leave on but there was a lot more into this than I expected! the puzzles were super fun, it was interesting to figure out which crops I should place where to manipulate the terrain. One of the last puzzles in the game that you have to do was pretty tricky and really makes you think about all of the tools and mechanics that you've learned. It also was not too difficult to 100% achievements. Could be a bit grindy depending on how you go about getting the all shiny plants achievement, but it's very easily optimized. I got that achievement before finishing all the letters actually.
This game has a great concept, but with a distinct lack of "quality of life" interactions and a truly redundant game loop, it seems poorly flushed out. The art style is nice and cute, but decorations change/alter gameplay enough to keep the game engaging. I would recommend it if it were free, I just would not suggest buying it.
Tiny Garden is one of these games that lures you in with a wholesome, colorful, casual vibe - and it is all of those things - but once you start playing you quickly realize it is also this addictive little toolbox for puzzle solving, logic learning, and designing. The more you play, the more you can decorate your "home" there, which does actually provide some neat, tangible benefits to the rest of the game, but it is ultimately a mainly cosmetic playground. To tell you the truth, though, I didn't spend my earnings on a single piece of furniture (outside of the tutorial) until hours into playing. Up until that point, I was grinding away on my little farm, designing layouts to maximize production and fulfill certain requirements. Certain plants synergized well with others, and I was able to realize down the line that some benefits that I hadn't found uses for earlier could be applied to later layouts and challenges. It was really fun working that stuff out, with regular breaks to make a cozy little scene above. When I was first deciding on picking this game up, I glanced at a few negative reviews amongst all the positive ones. Most of the complaints were citing the puzzle elements n such. Well, I'm very glad I was not deterred by them because I wouldn't have gotten the satisfying feeling of working them out on my own if I had. It was a good brain teaser, and in the end I actually 100% the whole game -- on that note, for what it is worth, this game does have both achievements and trading cards, so there's another incentive to purchase if you're into that. All in all, I feel I not only got my money's worth, but I also had a grand old time. If you see this on sale, like I did, I highly recommend you give this cozy little game a play!
Lovely and cozy small game :) You can treat it like a relaxing experience or like a mini puzzle series (unlocking all the stuff)
there is so much to say about this cute little game. hard to call it little when it offers such a new way of playing a gardening game. not only is it a puzzle game, but it is a new format with turn-based like progression. and the story! it's so wholesome and compassionate. the staff behind the game are also incredibly kind, helping with anyone stuck on the game or having bugs. this is seriously one of the best games i've played this year. i hope more content comes, i could play this forever.
The game is chill, but it gets a little boring after a while. Leveling up takes forever. I have a love/hate relationship with this game. Cute graphics. Pick up on a sale if you want to try it. 6/10
