Its a VERY hard escape the room game, probably the hardest ive played. Played for ~2hrs and i couldnt finish it... i was stuck most of the time, so not many puzzles solved or anything like that. I think it has to do with some solutions where quite hard to make sense of. Like, the very first puzzle, you start "chained" and have to find the code to your lock... the answer is right in front of you, but when i finally solved it, WHY would "THAT" be the combination?? There arent any clues to make me think those 2 things are related between them or even with my lock. Making that initial relationship was honestly, a total shot in the dark.
The sign with 4 highlighted letters (S B A P), and the letters in the Blue triangles give the combination
. After figuring out that first puzzle you get access to the rest of the back of the plane, and things get better for a while... I solved a few puzzles that where more in line on what i usually see in these kind of games, like the way you get the crowbar was ok... i got a few more items that i had no idea how or where to use... even by trial and erroring all of them with the few places i knew i had pending puzzles, nothing worked. So i asked for 3 clues, All were about a 5 number combination, but the clues helped very little, even with them being "clear" on what i needed to do, i couldnt figure the code (again the solution made no sense on WHY thats the code)
It told me to see analize a checklist and see what items where marked, and then it says the order is mixed...
I mean, after getting the clues i thought "ok fine, thats how it works, but WHY?" i think i might have be able to figure it out by my own, but i kinda get frustrated after not progressing for a while. I did a ton of other stuff, like turn on the radio, figured out some more clues, but didnt find a way to use that knowledge, and knowing how the earlier codes worked, i honestly didnt think i was up to the task of figuring them out. TIMESCAPE:Altitude feels hard because some puzzles are super hard to figure out without some ingame hints("cheat"), but i didnt find any environmental clues to help me with out them. Not every puzzle is that way, but the ones that are, really slow the pace of the game to a screeching halt. The game overall feels clunky with some polish still being needed, but has good ideas. This is one of those games i wish i could put a "NEUTRAL" review, as it still needs polish and some bug fixing, but at its current state the game does work, puzzles while hard as nails and clunky at times, do work. i think i could recommended this for someone that wants a very challenging Escape the Room Game, and will accept a bit of clunky gameplay.
👍I Expect You To Fly?
I love that being trapped alone on a crashing plan adds a REAL REASON to want to escape! Overall, you can expect a set of HIGHLY unique and "real world" based puzzles, where all the answers are there, but it's still tricky. It's not as "big studio polished" as the more well know and comical based "spy's who die" escape rooms are. So don't go in expecting that.
😃 Best way to play is...
It's super fun to play while in our Voice Chat, so other's can taunt/help/sabotage you in a playful way. A few in our Steam Group (link below) have been doing that and loving it. Brings a whole new level to the fun.
😃 More fun...
This dev seems SUPER responsive to the community and eager to improve the game. I have no doubt it will get better with each frequent update. I really like that the dev included a DIFFICULTY adjustment, and built in tips too. So you are less likely to get stuck on any one puzzle. It seems the difficulty doesn't give you "replay ability". So I suggest you try on the medium level, and adjust as needed. 🔥►Meet people PLAYING now (in group CHAT link below) 💬►Initially voted 'a REAL reason to ESCAPE ' @ JoinUsInVR Group 🏆►VR Giveaways & CHAT 🏆 https://steamcommunity.com/groups/JoinUsInVR
Escape room on a plane falling out of the sky. Lots of puzzles to solve, locks to pick and an angry snake in a box. Quite an interesting VR experience, I look forward to the next instalment! https://youtu.be/M4wrPFN83_w
Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. TIMESCAPE: Altitude is one of the clunkiest VR games I've ever experienced, unresponsive movement and item interactions make it a torture to play. P.S. It kinda works on Reverb G2.
This game is... just... SO MUCH FUN There were a couple glitches but I told the developer and he fixed them THAT DAY. So awesome! The puzzles are a blast, and even on level 5 (hardest difficulty) it felt like there was always some connection between puzzle pieces, and always some way to solve the puzzles. If you're not very good at puzzles, or you have trouble focusing on something for longer than an hour or so at a time, I would recommend you play on level 3. But, if you want the fullest experience, want to truly challenge yourself, and feel like you have the skill, play on level 5. Solving the puzzles is so satisfying, and the experience is only heightened in VR. TLDR; Awesome game, super fun, definitely play. I am playing on Quest 2 using Virtual Desktop: 100% compatability
Thoroughly enjoyable escape room game. Lots of varied puzzles. Good clue system. I played through on level 3 and it was just right- never too obvious and puzzles always satisfying to solve... get it if you like these sort of games- it is basic looking but the puzzles are definitely not basic. A nice VR puzzle trip! Played on quest 2 steam link to completion without any problems.
this is a great escape room puzzle game prob one of my favorites
