I love this game. I'm not particularly good at Gwent, but could get through practically every fight on normal difficulty. I will say the final fight feels a bit unfair, but the game allows you to lower the difficulty and skip fights if you're here for the story, which is what I had to eventually do. The voice acting is top tier, the art and visuals are stunning, and the overall plot is great. RPG fans will love this. There are some moments that genuinely made me tear up, and others that had me grinning from ear to ear. 9/10 game.
I hesitated to buy it but it is worth it!

Great game
IT's good, though maybe 20 hours too long.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has a good story and fun card-based combat. The voice actors deliver an amazing performance, but the world exploration is a trial no one deserves. When I play an RPG, I like walking into the corners of every map and rubbing on every object to look for secrets. For some unknowable reason, your overland exploration is tediously slow. Not only that, but the developers included an upgrade for it. Until you purchase the upgrade in your army camp, you will suffer. After you purchase it, you will think, "Why couldn't it have been even faster than this?" On higher difficulties, sparse resources make anything other than optimal combat upgrades unwise, so I can't recommend playing on higher difficulties. The story battles become rather trivial on lower difficulties, but I think they can still be enjoyable. There is a great balance among your decisions as a ruler and warrior. You must recruit allies, maintain their allegiance, develop your army, slay monsters, and save your people. Choosing the least bad option is a mainstay of the Witcher stories, and it is done brilliantly in Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. For $20, I can recommend this chronicle.
