I 100%'d the game. It's very good! I've wanted to run a thrift store since I was in the 4th grade, this let me live out a touch of that dream. I highly recommend if you like games like unpacking. Very queer, so good if you like that sort of thing. I like the solution to game-ifying acquiring items without making it too hard to believe and including that in the story. I uh, forgot until the very end about unlocking different types of shelving and decor. Maybe make that a touch more obious? The punchcard system is cute and maybe I'm just a dummy. I was too focused on organizing things on the same shelves, the same tables. Now I realize I could've themed the rooms..... Oh well! I have some things to say about stackable items, alternative displays, heck, let us place big items on the floor please,, but a lot of it doesn't super matter. I 100%'d the game and had a good time doing it. I just wish there were more like it. I like running a thrift store.
This game really gets it. I love organizing and decorating games, and this one is now at the top of my list. The color palette is easy to work with, the rewards for organizing in a nice way are tangible - but also kind of optional. If you want to make a niche corner somewhere in your shop, you totally can. I was driven to keep playing long after I exhausted all the content unlocks because the process of sorting and perfecting the shop is so satisfying. Although I do skip through all the dialogue, they don't punish you for it or force you to engage with the story, so even if you find the narrative kind of uninteresting, like I do, you can still enjoy the mechanics of the game, which are amazing. It looks pretty, it plays smoothly, the character creation is simple but effective, there are hundreds of items and color variations. If I could have anything more, I would want a greater color scheme spectrum for furniture, wallpaper, etc, and the ability to change my cashier desk style - but I'm hard-pressed to think of much more. It has a solid day of novel playability, and way more than that if you get into these kinds of games like I do. Highly recommend!
Very customizable. i enjoy that you can really make your store feel how you like. It feels well paced as well. With lots of fun items and themes. My only complaint is that you can stack things that would make sense to stack such as the tarrot cards, or other box like items. But overall a super fun and relaxing play.
Fun!!!
Its cute , lots of store sorta short. 23 hours and i have completed everything there is to do. Once you get all the rooms unlocked its a chore to fill all the shelfs up. you have to pick up each item once at a time. I wish there was a faster way to do this, but i fear if there was the game wouldn,t be as fun.
I have been so uninspired by my steam library recently but this game has had me returning to my PC more than I have in a long time!! If you have played unpacking before, it totally scratches that itch! I have spent so many hours curating my little store. If you hate sorting and organizing your own house but love to do it virtually, this is perfect for you. I just hope that they add more in the future!! (more room expansions, events, etc!!)
Love this game!! If you love sticky business, this is for you. I guess I loveee organizing all the shelves with the cute items and creating my perfect little thrift shop because I spent over 15 hours on that lmao. But the real highlight, as with their other games, are the wholesome, super relatable, and QUEER stories. Everyone always ends up a better person in the end. Its so heartwarming and cozy, with absolutely zero pressure or time limit, and I love the art style.
I am so happy I finally found Thrifty Business and Spellgarden Games! Relaxing resource management, running a business, organizing, unlocking furniture, decorating, socialization, etc. I feel this game provides everything it claims to be and more. I love the customers and events. The fun art style, bright colors, and engaging music combine bringing the game, characters, their stories to life. I very much so enjoy selling clothes the most and this game gives so much choice and freedom to do so. At one point, I didn't feel like progressing in the story/events and once I was ready, I then decided to move on (and purchase things other than clothes). I definitely recommend and will be checking out other releases from Spellgarden Games, I love it!
I love this game!!! It is so cute with all the customization options for the storefront and the customers you interact with. There are minor bugs (customer lining up at the counter correctly or not being able to click on trash when zoomed out). I also really enjoy the variety of items you can receive (color variations, etc.) and clubs the store can host. You guys rock!
