It's a puzzle game that lets you bruteforce it. There are clues in each level that let you determine which door is the correct one. But you can also just pick at random till you eventually get it. This sort of "play your way" twist is quite endearing. The puzzles themselves are not that hard, but still satisfying to solve. The atmosphere tries to be tense, but the lack of loud screams during the few jumpscares makes you feel more curious rather than scared. The story, from what I can tell, is some vague guy getting over his fears and reuniting with his girlfriend. So not very complicated, but sweet. Overall, it's a neat and even somewhat encouraging game that should take you about an hour to beat.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"Three Doors: Labyrinth of Fear" is what looks like a (possibly asset flipped) first person horror jumpscare adventure, one of many, many thousands of these on Steam Direct (because they are easy for amateur developers to hack together, and don't require a lot of talent or skill). This one has you solving puzzles in thirty odd rooms full of various assets and disgusting AI slop to try to escape the AI slop. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just about an hour. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. This comes across as something unambitious and "simple" in terms of implementation and technical quality and depth, more like a game dev tutorial or an experiment. It’s a classic case of a developer prioritizing the low effort needed to get a game listed on Steam over the actual delivery of a technically sound or compelling product. Whatever is needed to hammer out something "good" enough for Steam Direct self-publishing. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets for some of the textures and audio. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever, where it's not just pure AI slop. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free game won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Definitely not. No up front price, but I still feel ripped off. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. Finally, I'm here to help save gamers time by filtering out the noise and substandard games. If you don't agree with my assessment of the defects in this game, go ahead and download it... maybe you'll find the same defects to be as unacceptable as I did, maybe not.
I'll be honest. i have no idea what the story was about. I started to ignore about halfway through. But i did enjoy the random puzzles of each room. And its free so win/win. Solid 6/10 !
Beat the game in 53 minutes . Interesting sad game . Lacks sound for jumpscares , thats why ill say the game isnt scary
Норм игрушка.
Отличная игра, крутая задумка!
Well, this game wasn't very long but it tells the story of the player conquering his inner fears. This takes the form of various puzzles and requires solving by following clues set out by a mysterious figure. Overall, I quite enjoyed this for what it was, had a few jump scares and the style and art alongside music/sounds really bring the experience together. Difficulty of the puzzles aren't high, they're fairly simple once you figure out the pattern. 7/10. DUE TO ONLY BEING 30 PUZZLES NOT 50. PS. If you're scared of heights, I recommend taking a breather when playing this. You may or may not get triggered on one specific puzzle. I know it did for me.
For a free game, I enjoyed it. Some roooms are hard to solve, but most are quite obvious. It's a good blend. The story is somewhat cryptic on its own, but okey. Hoping DaveB will give us more games like this, taking the storytelling and puzzles to a new level.
