Broken breakout game that can’t even deliver the most basic gameplay. Because this is one of the most classic games, there is no need to go into depth regarding the gameplay. You simply need to move the paddle to bounce the ball into blocks. When you break all the blocks, you can move on to the second level. Unfortunately, something went very wrong during development. First and foremost, ball movement is unnatural. Similar games provide some control over the ball's angle. This one lacks all of that because it appears to have a mind of its own. When it connects with the paddle, the ball defies natural laws and can bounce off at odd angles. The game features 20 stages. These are the most basic stages in a breakout game. It's just a monotonous brick wall that takes much too long to break. Also, the background is always the same and appears AI-generated. Power-ups are rare, and none of them are useful. Extra points, a slower ball that slows down the game and makes it more boring, an extra ball, and so on. The game's engine is broken. Nothing happens if you lose the game. There is a message, but you are not brought to the main menu to try again. You can return to the main menu by pressing ESC, however this will erase your current progress without any warning. If you press letter “P” on the keyboard, you can pause the game. Strangely, the paddle can be still moved. If you return to the main menu and start a new game without unpausing first, the stage will be reset, but the ball will remain where you left it in the previous game. Achievements might lure you into playing the game, but they appear to be broken as well because nothing happened when you finished the first level. This should be free. The whole package feels like someone simply entered “write a code for a simple breakout game” in one of the AI sites.
The AI backgrounds are good. Music is good. But none of these are the dev's achievement... Okay, I like the idea and the theme a bit. But the implementation is horrible, the whole game is broken. I wanted to leave after a minute, which is kinda rare, especially with a breakout game... With some actual effort (polishing the game mechanic, especially the physics), this could be a nice breakout clone in the 0.49€ price range. Keep the AI stuffs and music, that's for sure! Reminds me those mid-late 90's shovelware compilation CD's which you could grab from store shelfs. Where they packed a bunch of "unacceptable unknown" games and sold at "GREAT PRICE". Like "20 Best Arcade Games", "500 BEST GAMES" (yeah, capital) or "25 Spiele - Action & Abenteuer" (that might ring you the bell how bad is this), I have few of these. And no, I not meant "shareware". These mostly made with "Klik & Play" engine or old GameMaker software (loved to mess with that) or simple Visual Basic 2D ones in a window. Some were funny for few minutes, but mostly were trash. So...nah. You can do way better things with Unity Engine! Or waiting to Thor throw the Mjölnir at you? :D
