This Merchant Life

I liked it.

I have played this game for 3 hours. I have not gotten too deep into the story but I find the core gameplay to be extremely boring. I still have not unlocked any other regions and grinding to gain levels and reputation to continue either the story or unlock new areas is not fun. The game gives you most of what you're going to do at the beginning and then does not deepen as time goes by in any meaningful way. The fact everything feels dragged out and that I'm gaining money, experience, and reputation at a snails pace without anything interesting to do is what ultimately causes me to give this a negative review. I feel dissatisfied and that I cannot continue to just grind to actually get anywhere. I normally write longer more detailed reviews but there just isn't enough here with how slow unlocking things is.

I just fired up this game for the first time, and I really don't have an opinion on it yet, but I do have a problem. Putting it into "Windowed Mode" replaces the game screen with the White Splash Screen for the Devs and locks there. I can either click "Close" on the "Now Windowed Game" or hit alt-Enter, and return it to fullscreen, where it then returns to working. What is wrong with playing in a window? Kinda crap for a game that's been out since 2019 to have this problem.

game works and easy to understand. a good simple merchant game.
