About
1. Accurate and realistic physics
2. Good maps that replicate real-life conditions
3. A fun multiplayer, because flying alone is boring
There are other simulators that do 1 or 2 of those quite well, but none really do it all for me.
So in 2024 I started with a little prototype to see if it's possible and quickly had something that already felt better than most other simulators.
At the start of this year I decided to go all-in and actually try to make it happen.
1. Physics
I've replicated my own itsFPV ERA 5" quad mostly based on feel, and every time I compare it to real-life footage or Blackbox logs, it's within a few percentage points.
The map choice is also very intentional with it being my home spot where I've flown more than 1000 packs, so I can compare it 1:1 to real-life.
All my Pro-pilot friends who tried it so far can also fly as well as in real-life without having to get used to the Sim first or spending hours dialing in the settings.
The default settings are my personal settings, but you can change the Weight and Power to your liking.
2. Maps
There is currently one map, a replica of my home spot. It's still missing some finer details and a proper surrounding environment, which is actively being worked on.
Going forward, most official maps will be replicas of real spots, and there will be a Custom map builder and Steam Workshop support for whatever crazy training parks you want to build.
3. Multiplayer
The best way to get better and find inspiration is by spectating other pilots. With picture-in-picture spectate mode you can spectate multiple other pilots on the side, while still flying yourself. You can also switch to fullscreen at any time of course.
The multiplayer currently supports up to 32 players on a single server.
Drift cars
Proper environment around the map
Fixed-wing and another special drone that doesn't exist in any Sim yet 👀
A second map with a real spot
Custom map editor
The game is far from finished, but development is very quick with big features being added every couple of days. And it's only getting quicker as I get more comfortable with 3D modeling and game development in general.
By buying the game in the early stages you can support the development in a huge way, and hey, maybe you'll get a little something in return at some point ;)
Keep up with the latest updates on Instagram @thezonefpv or on the community Discord server.
Everything in the game is designed and programmed by sponsored freestyle pilot @nils vo.
A game controller or RC Plane Radio is required to play this game. For the best experience, use a RC Radio.
Learning the basic controls takes about 2–5 hours, and it takes 10–20 hours before you can fly with any accuracy. This is a simulation and training tool, not a fun game you can just pick up and play without practice.

This is the best fpv simulator I've ever seen in my entire life. It is so cool!
I don't normally do reviews but this is easily the best sim out there! The physics are on point, the drones feel like how they fly in real life its insane. I've tested many sims in search of the perfect feeling sim and none get close to The Zone. Not to mention all the tools it has and all the QoL features built in. It has a wing too which was unexpected but I dig it. I highly recommend this sim for anyone looking to into the hobby! Get a Radiomaster Pocket and this sim you'll be set. Looking forward to what Nils cooks up next! Main point: Don't let the graphics be the deciding factor, you are probably going to use analog anyway. (The physics are where its at)
One of the best physics
In my admittedly limited experience, this has the best physics model. I've tried Unchrashed (which is great), LiftOff and a few others. This one is less floaty and feels more accurate. Love it. Would be good it if had a few more and more detailed maps, but not much of an issue. It also has Tiny Whoop drones. It's very clear that the designer of this game is very focused on getting the fundamentals right and they have.
Es ist ein sehr realistischer Simulator, bei dem die Flugphysik im Vordergrund steht. Ein Vorteil der nicht so guten Grafik ist, dass es auf allen möglichen Geräten problemlos läuft. Send it!
The game runs better in its second day for some reason after I installed it. I used to get 19-25 FPS on some maps, then 50-60 in some maps. I played this on a surface pro 7+ with intel Iris Xe graphics. So no graphics card but am able to achieve satisfying performance, although I had to tone down to 50% resolution. I hope the momentum of the frequent updates as it goes through its early access phase keeps up. It's good.
W
this sim has the most realistic physics out of any sim i tried so far, not the most content but for physics that will make you better and not worse if youre already halfway decent this sim is it
Zum Üben und lernen sehr gut
