I took a leap of faith on this one. It has a lot of good reviews, however I can't recommend it. I had assumed, foolish me, that the major glitches, like fish doing headstands, not moving at all, and then moving and going half way through the ground texture, would have been fixed by now. It was released in 2021/2022 and those issues are still there. The underwater fish just look awful and can appear in various unnatural positions, which really ruins the immersion for me. That, along with every fish being practically the same size when reeling it in but, when you land it, it could be tiny or huge or any place in between. I also spent a whole tournament's time fighting a tiny fish that could not be landed. The line would not reel in far enough to land the fish, whether I put drag to minimum or maximum. This is not a demo I'm running, I paid full price for it, along with additional DLC purchased, figuring that at least the latest locations released must have been improved. My mistake, ugh. I wish I had not purchased it and I'm still looking for a good PC fishing game on Steam. There's good and bad in all of them, and no one has been able to combine the best features in each. What pushed me into finally buying this one was the real cast (being able to use the mouse/controller to cast instead of just pushing a button and watching a power meter). Unfortunately, it is so badly implemented and frustrating, that it's almost unusable. I would pass on this one as it is no longer maintained and the large issues still remain. Please leave a comment if you know of a good fishing simulation for PC on Steam. I have tried this one, Fishing Planet, Russian Fishing 4, Professional Fishing 2, Ultimate Fishing 3, Call of the Wild Angler, and Real VR Fishing. Russian Fishing 4 would not be bad if only the fishing mechanic and the fish animations could be improved, but as of now, I'm still waiting.
As an avid bass angler this is a huge letdown. I miss the days of Rapala games. Pros: Decent graphics Decent array of gear Cons: Maps appear large, but fish-able area is actually very small Lures don't move... at all Unable to make topwaters do the proper action Lures travel through solid objects (logs, rocks, docks, etc) Lure rigging doesn't make any sense in many cases, like selecting a carolina rigged ned worm yet the game turns it into a ned drop shot that stays flat on the bottom Even at the sale price of 3.99 I cannot support this or have it take up space on my PC. Do better. Refunded.
very realistic.

good
This game could be fun, but is frustrating. Mostly due to no bite for hours, lakes feels empty and boring. But there are some lakes where the amount of bites are crazy often.
In game issues and weird things UI: - Unable to zoom/move map. Really? Yes, hehe. Use magnifying glass. But you can do that on dovetail website. - Sometimes you will catch big fish that should be trophy but for some reason marked as "common". - Rod select - if you have clicked setup number "3" and moved your mouse in different position, it will open different one. - Mouee cursor position is buggy sometimes, e.g. you're clicking red lure, but game is selecting that golden below. - Option that allows you to disable HUD icons, not working correctly, and icons still randomly appears. GAMEPLAY: - It's not bassmaster it spawnfinder. Your fishing knownedgle doesn't matter here. - Career tournamets is a big frustration. AI players will catch instantly monsters, you catch nothing. - In career mode, when time ends and you have fish on the line game still ends. (LET ME TAKE OUT THE FISH! JUT DO NOT COUNT IT) - Annoying minigame "Landing Chance" with moving arrow, press "E" on white spot to catch. Sometimes its barely visible and there is no option to disable it even for freeplay mode. - 4 clickable time of day instead of a slider to select time that u like, Want to fishing at night? select evening and waaaaait.. or use trainer. - Reel 1-5 speeds doesn't affect hand animation, its always look very slow. - Fish stuck in vertical position and flickers to horizontal for millisecond. - Rapidly appearing-dissapearing fish on your eyes. - Hours without bite on some lakes, spam on other - you lure barely touch the water and you got a bite. - Retrieve techiques are weird and unclear. Hard to achieve. - Boat trolling issues, have to re-enter to fix. Also rotating it is waaaaaay too slow. - Fish can stuck around your boat, and on other things, like rock, bridge. And there's no rescue button :) - There should be some cooldown between snags to avoid spam which is happening. - Lure wierdly shaking if its lying on the ground. - Lures doesn't have animations (underwater camera), even the DLC ones. - Quick travel? Nah, only 1 point on map. No big deal. GRAPHIC: - Eye hurting and blinking pixelated reflections - no option to disable. - Can't disable camera bobbing - which causes motion sickness. - Rod movement animation are in 30fps propably, looks unsmooth. - You can spot trees, rocks, bushes floating in the air instead of fully touching the ground. - Water brightness flickering sometimes. (more visible on lower EFFECT QUALITY option, so use ULTRA to reduce it) - Tree shadows change its position by jumping every second instead of moving smooth, even on ULTRA. - Some ambient occluion effect doesn't load correctly, you have to re-enter lake like 10 times to finaly see it. CONTROLS: - Mouse stops working after cutscenes, you have to press ESC twice to fix it. - You can't change Sonar/Minimap while fishing (lure is in the water). - Camera zoom button "B" does nothing. Why it exist in controls? - Changing any option, resets your mouse movement speed.
Kind of good. IT looks great. It's more of a video game than a fishing game since any real world fishing knowledge you have will probably just make you lose. but still fun.
i love toledo bend, chickamuega, and gunterville
not fun.... use the same 2 lures to catch ALLL the fish and the fish always spawn in the same few spots
For those of us devoted to traveling the US and other countries, traveling working long hours, and haven't the time to enjoy spending time with family and friends, enjoying the great outdoors hunting and fishing, it's a wonderful, fulfilling virtual trip playing my favorite games, and revisiting old games as well. Thanks STEAM!! terrybeacom
