Alright so I played about 2 hours of this game and I already feel like I can review this. In my opinion, this game is worth the price. Honestly, the fighting was somewhat enjoyable. Needed a change to what I've been playing recently. The story however was not that good, but considering it's a low budget game that is understandable. Pros: -Decent game to kill time with -Good environmental sounds -Decent graphics Cons: -Bland story -Long, boring dialogs (kinda relates back to bland story) -Unchangable key mappings -Difficult to navigate through game Now my cons might seem like they would outweigh the pros, and so you may be wondering why I recomment this game. My reasoning for recommending it is that it was worth what I paid for, enough said. If you guys want to check out the game play for this video, or want to see why my pros and cons are as they are feel free to check out my linked video. Thanks for reading my review, and I hope this gave you information on whether or not you would enjoy this game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIMS_MrASMU
.odd .Controls are really strange .cool story tho... still dont know how to change my weapons tho
What am I looking at
In my opinion, this game is worth the price especially on promotions for a ridiculous 1-1.5 euros. To be honest, the combat was quite enjoyable. The story, however, was not so good, but considering this, the low budget of the game is understandable. Pros: -Ideal Game for killing time -Good Environmental Sounds -Hilarious,very specific Graphics Disadvantages: -History -Boring dialogues (sometimes even funny) -Stupid controls (running under "R") Now you may consider that the cons outweigh the pros, so you may wonder why I recommend this game. However, I am satisfied for a product that matches the price - cheap, specific a little silly but always a little different from what I have already played.
ELERK!!
entertaining weird incredibly short not worth the price.
This game comes down to one word: intrigue. I'll describe this story-driven game as a kinda modern Alice in Wonderland (except you're a guy and weirder). You find yourself in an alternate world with bizarre creatures, people and situations and basically have to find your way through it. Everything about it grabs your intrigue - the locations from underground villages complete with evil looking church and 'starblocks' coffee to vampire-haunted towns, the people you'll meet from a blue-skinned magic girl (love interest??) to a gate-guard who just wants new shoes, and enemies you'll have to fight from cute but irritating garden gnomes (I just loved bashing those :D ) to carnivorous tree-squirrels. I found myself just wanted to keep going if only to see what I'll encounter next. I have a complaint though: the whole game is pretty much a one-track *very* story-driven one. No open world rpg, exploring away from the set part gets you nothing and no secrets as far as i could tell. Even your weapons are upgraded at set points. For me this factor is a little disappointing because I'm the sort who likes to go explore the forest you're specifically told not to, jump off cliffs to see if i can survive, kiss the queen, hack the village store-keeper etc, basically everything *except* the quest. Only when I'm satisfied I've explored everything else do i finally get back to the story. This game offers none of that. Still, like i mentioned above, the intrigue just gets to you and i just kept playing till the end (which comes a bit sooner than expected but that's why this game is "Book 1"). So if you want a little distraction for a bit, go ahead and get it, you'll have a few laughs as well.
I can't actually open this game :(
The World Named Fred is a phenomenal. Will write a longer review after finishing. To anyone who says it's not worth the money; Do you realize how many unique are assests are in this game?
Plays a bit like a story by Yahtzee Croshaw. It's short, it stops in the middle of the story, it's ~2 hours unless you need to redo stuff a lot, and it somehow can't decide if it's an adenture or an RPG - it feels like an adventure, but it has a combat system, but it's too simple to be taken seriously and a bit annoying as a result. The 3D modeling looks like a child did it, the controls feel like a child did them, the story is weird and wonderful. It works, it's fun, what more can I say?
