The Wide Open Sky is Running out of Catfish

Basically ace combat but with more fish and better music. The credits made me cry, that's a first. -- Gracious blue heaven lend unto me a sliver of wide open sky.

an absolute gem of a game <3 you can tell that it is filled with a deep love of all that is art, nature, and what it means to connect to the world around you. if you're looking for a serene game with vibrant characters and an impactful message, i highly recommend. the gameplay loop of flying around the sky and taking photos is satisfying without ever feeling too repetitive as you collect all the different fish and move on to new areas. the story itself is rather short, but the game encourages you to take your time and take in the world around you as you progress. the whole world envelops you in a blanket of comfort with the adorable art style and lush music as you learn about the world around you with Catfish. i love you Catfish

the music!!!! god I loved the music so much (i'm looking at you windsock and hog day afternoon). and the whole game too. crafted head to toe from the deepest spot of someone's heart. thank you all for making this masterpiece. <3 P.S. the fish entries were such a highlight

What an exquisite happy game. So happy I got around to playing this - the music and vibes are just so good, the ending made me tear up a bit. Just a solidly feel-good game. [spoiler] Crab [/spoiler] genuinely made me laugh which I usually don't get in games as well. If you ignore the flying around collecting fish, it's a pretty short and sweet story but man I spent what felt like 3-5 hours just flying through the sky collecting clouds. So unbelievably zen - really can't emphasize how relaxing this game (and especially the music) were. Would highly, highly recommend!

this game is art. I'm going through a lot in life right now. My papa is dying and I'm struggling physically and mentally. I have only maybe a month left with him, and its been hard. When I saw this game's demo a whle ago something just... clicked. The aesthetic is similar to ones that bring me a lot of comfort, and the world, story, and gameplay are something I really need right now. I've been struggling to create my own art, to get my emotions out of my and into words or drawings. To accept this change in my life. But this genuinely means so much to me, it's helping me so much. Thank you everyone who's worked on this game. Thank you for making such a special piece of art, and or making such an important impact on my life. I wish you well.

This game manages to be cozy, funny, satisfying, emotional, and so so endearing all at once. Let these devs take you on their wild journey, its worth it even just for the giant awesome catfish who you live on. This game connected with me very quick, I promise you wont be disappointed with your time.

this game has so much more than i expected. every character i meet whether it's a friend from college or a giant floating sea animal is a joy to interact with. i can't wait to take more pictures of fish

It's a beautiful game! Both whimsical and quite emotional and thought-provoking. The main photography/cloud collecting loop is simple but very well executed. I find the moments flying around collecting clouds very beautiful and peaceful. And the story is woven very seamlessly throughout, the world and characters feel very alive and the story naturally progresses as you go about your days. I haven't finished yet, but am looking forward to spending more time with this game and would definitely recommend it!
