The Very Brief and Meaningless Adventure of Hero Man

A self-aware mock of the genre with fun dialogues, deprecated mechanics and multiple endings, perfect if you don't want to take the risk of playing something that tries to be meaningful but fails! The game makes it easy to cut to the chase once you've unlocked a couple of endings, and it's free, so yeah.

A cool parody of the old school dragon quest tropes... wished it had achievemnt and some more clue on how to obtain the endings. Funny-ish, but nothing incredible. Still, it is free.

A Decently Lengthy and Entertaining Playthrough of a Player. With the game’s graphical style being similar to the other ones of the developer it is equally as charming and cute. The environments have delightful little touches like the sad faces in the tower, which even foreshadow one of the endings. The enemy designs are fun and their abilities match them as well. The music is nice too, very upbeat and energetic! Combat is kept rather simplistic needing only a small amount of strategy every now and again until you are caught up in level with the current area’s enemies. Aside from the basic attack you won’t need much more than the damage and healing spells most of the time though. What is obviously the real focus of this game is the writing, specifically the comedy which it does decently well. There is a lot of commentary given, most of it being somewhat snide which might be more of an acquired taste. Still it is pretty fun to find the different endings and each playthrough is usually short enough to not become tedious, even the ones needing you to do a small amount of grinding. If you enjoy RPGs, particularly old-school ones or want something simple and fun to do for a little while this game certainly would not be a bad pick to at least get a few endings in!
