A comedic old-school inspired turn-based RPG with a cliché good vs evil story and gameplay with all the NPCs, classes, shops, items, spells, etc that you'd except a game like this would have that feels fresh and a must play for old and new gamers to the genre with many different paths to take and endings that was a joy to find and kept me hooked for hours.

Short but sweet game composed of 18 different endings. On the positive side, the game has plenty of charm, and there's quality of life items later on that make runs faster. If you've been playing rpgs for a while, you'll likely intuit what the game wants you to do for the endings. One I stumbled onto. There's a hint person that offers a single tip for a new ending, as well as someone that shows all the endings you've done so far. On the negative side, starting at the queen every time is annoying. Would like an option to "start with party" and begin downstairs with the crew after a few runs have been done. There's a couple endings that are obvious for this kind of game, but tedious to get. I don't particularly care for starting at level 1 every time: I'd like an option to start at 2 or 3 after doing a few runs. The music is nice, the combat goes quickly. I overall like it. I'm surprised it's listed as free and not charging anything, considering how much is in it.

RPG Maker strikes again! "The Very Brief and Meaningless Adventure of Hero Man" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality assets coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This RPG Maker kitbash eschews the usual fan-fiction about the developers imaginary girlfriend, but the fan-fiction cringe is there. This un-funny pixelcrap was intended to be some kind of spoof of the fantasy RPG genre, but this is so bad it makes a perfect example of everything that's wrong with the genre, uninintentionally, just by existing. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
This is a nicely-put-together little ending collecting RPG. At 2.4 hours in, I've found 6 of the 18 possible endings. Longer playthroughs take about half an hour; some are much shorter.
You can expect:

Silly dialogue that mocks RPG clichés
Simple, balanced gameplay
Some challenge when it comes to ending discovery
Content warning: depression and suicide mentioned in a couple storylines. Played for laughs.

Do NOT expect:

Earnest storytelling
Adult humor
Complex or varied gameplay
Difficult battles

My opinion:
The visuals are cute and clean, the soundtrack is cohesive, and both match the game's lighthearted tone. The dialogue is funny, though some jokes belabor the point a bit longer than what adds to the fun. Longer dialogue common to many endings can be skipped once it's been read before. This game lets you adventure alone or with up to 3 allies, and the gameplay balance holds up surprisingly well for any party. The downside is that play can start to feel samey after several playthroughs; a few equipment side-grades or different monster types from one non-final dungeon to another could have broken up the monotony. But as it is, this game is well worth the price tag of Free; I'd have happily paid a few bucks for it. :)
My completion is 5/18 endings, so I haven't seen everything there is to see as of writing this review. As of now: 7/10 game, would recommend. This game lives up to the expectations set by the trailer and description. The sense of humour is generally really on point, and got me laughing out loud a few times throughout. The occasional joke can feel a little forced, but you forget all about that when there's a banger right around the corner. Despite not usually being a fan of traditional RPG combat, the game is pretty light on combat and combat difficulty, so I didn't have to deal with it enough to get tired of it. I can imagine however that starting over for every ending might get repetitive, especially ones that require some degree of combat and grinding. Overall I had a blast playing this and will definitely be going for 100% completion (and update my review accordingly). For a free game, you have no reason not to pick this up, you could definitely charge like $5 for this and it'd still be worth it.
A fun little ending-hunting rpg maker game. The graphics and ui are simple, but leagues above the usual rpg maker slop
For such a small game it has a ton of different options and dialogue. Really like this one and the rest of Torch60 games
A self-aware mock of the genre with fun dialogues, deprecated mechanics and multiple endings, perfect if you don't want to take the risk of playing something that tries to be meaningful but fails! The game makes it easy to cut to the chase once you've unlocked a couple of endings, and it's free, so yeah.
