First of all I want to congratulate the devs for all the work they have done *if you don't know yet this was the last game pitched on Steam Greenlight* - even if it's an early access it has a lot to offer and knows how to keep you engaged. I was waiting for a lot of time to play this game and I wasn't disappointed, it hooked me form the first seconds. The artwork is original, looks like a combination of street art with hipster-homeless vibes plus a pinch of non conformity and little bit daring in some places - but all of these mixed in a great way. The mechanics are unexpected for a racing game... Wait, is this really a racing game? To be honest sometimes it feels like a D&D version of Mad Max with lowlifes and dirty dancers. And don't make me start about the cars customization and the characters vanity items who are really hilarious. It's like they hired President Dwayne Camacho from Idiocracy to name all the items in the game and write their legends/history. All in all is a smart, new, innovative gameplay for a racing game, with a lot of jokes and content to keep you focused on dominating the underground world...so have fun playing it!
It's a very unique racing / team management / rogue-lite quirky game that, at first, looks much more intimidating than it really is. Race cars, win rewards, take up weird random events here and there, and once you kick the bucket (and you will a lot - at least I did, it might just be me sucking at this) gain some boosts that will help you survive longer on your next runs. It's an early access title, so you can spot some things that need improving - for me, at least, in the racing sounds department, but the overall quirkiness will win you over. And it's all supported by an art style that you won't find in many indie games. The visual customization options for your racers are as insane and kooky as they get. You always get people complaining about game Z being exactly the same as game X or Y - if you are one of those people, give The Underground King a shot. It's definitely a unique, zany and unexpected mash-up of genres that works. Oh, and there's some pretty bumping bubblegum punk tunes playing while you race. If you're into racing and racing management, give this a try.
For the Romanian folks I have a video that gives my first impressions on the game => https://youtu.be/nOSq2oCAOug For the English talking folks: Once you pass the "tutorial" which is not so straight-forward you get into a game that is unique in it's visuals. Besides the visual the punk-rock music gives you this rock-n-rolla vibe that you are truly the Underground King ready to kick some ass. Looking forward to seeing what Alex and Alex will do next with the game. Pros - visuals and audio - race difficulty. when those meteor showers hit, you are going to have a bad day :) - rogue like. you start over if you fail to keep up with fame and coin. Cons - hard to grasp with few details in the start.
A really interesting indie game. It has quite a few nice mechanics. The world it's full of hobos (I see that as a plus) And the racing is fun once you get the hang it. It needs a bit of polish in the tutorial/teaching area, but the rest is fun and I can only say that "I want moreeee!".
Congrats to the devs for this fun little indie game. I’m really happy to see a team that put so much effort and passion into their game. The game is entertaining with awesome artwork, gameplay, and jokes. If you like racing management games with innovative mechanics then you should give this a try! The tutorial could use some improvements at this point.
