Love where this is going!! My boyfriend and I hopped on and played for a bit and had fun, but ultimately some glitches made it annoying and caused some problems, like not being able to pick things up (both of us) and packages just straight up disappearing (5 of them at the time i think while i was trying to interact with them then a customer walked by and it was gone and then he bought a few things and left idk if it was a glitch or NPC 'theft'). This game has a lot of potential, and is already really fun so long as glitches don't get in your way. its a lot of fun setting up shop and trying to keep up with supply and demand while checking people out and checking for shoplifters. I hope they can make more cute clothes and interior design options, and would love to see this game bloom, but it is definitely in early access rn. I hope it isn't abandoned along the way bc I really like this game so far! My biggest critique, as someone who is a dev and makes art, I don't appreciate the use of AI art for this, and hope they plan to fix it eventually because I can get why since they are a two person team. Don't love it, understand it, but still don't feel like I can agree with it. Outside of that LOVE this, and hope it blossoms into something grand!
Currently can walk through unfinished buildings, unable to lift/raise objects in build mode, cannot not even put cards/packs/boxes up to sell. In build mode you can use objects to propel yourself or other players, including objects. There is no indicator on keybindings to actually put cards up on display to even sell or change prices. Needs a ton of work.
Pretty neat, obviously trying to be like card shop simulator. Really hoping this isn't just an early access abandonment project and does actually get some updates, because even without the polish it needs it is already fun. And you can gamble your life savings away!
This game is so great! I saw this game on tiktok and was really interested in trying it out, so I did. My gf and I have become obsessed with playing this game together, and especially my gf with collecting the cute cards and helping me run the store. The controls weren't entirely clear at first, but we were able to figure it out pretty quickly. I would recommend a controls guide in the menu or player journal to help out first time players. For an early access game tho this game seems to be in a really great spot and I cant wait to see whats gonna be in the next update. Definitely highly recommend!
fun to gamble everything away with my friends
Grottenschlecht.
To preface: This game is the definitively jank. The controls are abnormal, there are many bugs, and the game design decisions are definitely... unique. If this does not sound like your cup of tea, probably best to avoid. Now, let's delve into the meat and potatoes of this, shall we?
The Good

Fulfills the shop sim needs: From what I have found every product you purchase sells for double its cost. This allows you to expand quickly and get to that mass card-opening phase quickly. Speaking of which...
Satisfies the collector cravings: There are a number of unique card varieties to collect, all of which feel uniquely satisfying to pull
Gambling: Adding gambling to this mix creates another layer of fun/chaos. A friend group can easily turn a day's worth of earnings into nothing, but if you hit it big you're set for a big expansion
Multiplayer: Having the option to play multiplayer in this genre is great. Being able to show off big hits while friends are in awe (or more likely extremely jealous) is great fun
Unfortunately, we now have to get into...
The Bad

The Bugs

Walking through objects: There are many objects (including structures) that you can simply walk through. This goes hand-in-hand with...
Dodgy collision: You will find very quickly that purchased items will frequently fall through, or disappear into, the floor. This usually has to do with furniture being unboxed on other items (including packages, meaning if you order more than one furniture item at once the rest are usually lost)
Dodgy collision x2: Some furniture, when being built in edit mode, can only be built in the floor instead of on it.Not all the way, but enough to confuse and annoy
Dodgy collision x3: Customers dropping items at checkout has caused me to clip into the ground and warp to the top of the world, building up speed to the point where it would be irresponsible to not have a seizure warning. I was then catapulted beyond the warp point and fell into the endless void beneath the world, forcing a restart (which, surprisingly, had all my progress saved). 10/10

The Gameplay

Multiplayer: While I cannot speak to actual multiplayer interaction (as it is shown to be LAN-only, and I am a chronically-online internet degen with no friends to play with), I do find it rather unique to have the save file slots to be exactly.. one. Additionally, this savefile must always be hosted, with a room code, whether online or in singleplayer
Day Cycle: While there is in-game time, it is always progressing (due to the hosting). This means that, open or close, the day will move on regardless. There's probably an existential point here, but when it comes to a game it is a bit frustrating to not have proper downtime for ordering/restocking that isn't always on the clock
Ordering: You can order a total of three items at a time. Not three boxes of items, three items. These are then delivered by an actual NPC (kinda cool) who then drops these at your door after around 35 seconds (if unimpeded. This NPC can absolutely get stuck on other NPC's by the way). This NPC then has to travel back to where they came from in order to pick up and deliver your next order
Store Stock: There is no smart stocking whatsoever. Employees pick products up one at a time and put it wherever it fits. This, combined with no pricing control makes for a rather annoying experience if you are looking to automate down the road if you are OCD-adjacent

The Minor Annoyances

There are very little options in this game. Rebinding is out of the question (let alone looking up what keys do what), FOV is locked, and you can only adjust sound in-game from what I have found
There is forced collision with customers (but not employees?) which makes restocking hell at times, considering customers will show up and explore the store even if it is closed
No jump? Like, at all? Why?
Card rarities do not feel all that special at times. Got a golden version of a normally $0.20 cent card? Well now it's worth... $0.80 cents!
AI images...
Control scheme is extremely unintuitive, and the tutorial needs serious work

The Verdict

Edited as of 18 June 2025
Wow, you're still here? Alright, in that case this game is no longer a recommend from me. While I have gotten more than my $5 worth out of this game despite (or maybe alongside) the jankiness, there has been zero updates, zero fixes, and seemingly zero possibility that the devs will support this game to any degree in the future. TLDR: You didn't at least skim the review? Kinda makes me a bit sad... Verdict: Would unfortunately no longer recommend for the price, on sale or not. If you do decide to purchase the game, despite these warnings: Protip: Use the 'J' key to learn a lot about the game, including controls. This is not given in the pause menu, or really anywhere else. I stumbled across it and it was an absolute game-changer.
At the moment I wouldn't recommend the game. There are some errors in it. I bought a shelf and some TCG. The shelf arrived but the cards simply disappeared. When I finally figured out the controls, no customers showed up. The monsters are absolutely cute and excellently designed. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it's being worked on and maybe buy it again.
