I particularly enjoyed this VN; 1stly, because I am always attracted to decent yuri games and 2ndly, due to the the fantasy involved in the story line (i.e., ears and tails of characters). The story line itself was quite shallow, but this is only a small negative compared to the brilliant CGs and the number of routes to follow; 6 in all, which includes one threesome. I have only completed 3 routes (Aiko, Momo and Mutsumi) as to the time I post this review, and am keen to see where the other 3 routes will lead shortly. The Tower of 5 Hearts is a VN I would strongly recommend.
"I used to bang all of my maids" is a weird abuse of a power dynamic from a princess.
It's average I guess, but I'm not a fan of the writing and it runs poorly on my Linux, so I can't recommend this game. The art and music are just okay: they didn't make much of an impression on me. The VN engine is a bit wonky and made my computer fan blow. The characters do have backstories and personalities, but I just couldn't get invested in the story.
This relatively short yuri VN is, I believe, the second game from Tsuki Ware. I can easily reveal that my expectations of it being just another average, western product were quashed. The whole story occurs in a tower where you, a princess, reside with five maids/candidates vying for your heart. What is not typical is that they're all animal girls (including you) so not just personalities vary. It is rather straightforward, slice of life story, lacking surprises or twists. Still, writing is enjoyable and with plenty of fanservice and more. 5 main endings + mini harem ending and possible sad one provide enough playtime for the price asked. It is not an outstanding work but considering it is only their second title devs did more than I expected. Art is probably the weakest point of this VN. It is of rather average anime variety. Low on details and not very vibrant in colour. Ok considering typical western VNs but weak when compared to an average Japanese one offered in english (biased due to a quality sift of what is being translated but still...). Overall design is fine at least. Music is of medieval variety, which is very fitting, and is very relaxing. Only nitpick is the low variety. Too much repetition and in some cases mismatched with events. Still, definitely positive aspect of this title. No voice acting but price justifies this in my eyes. No bugs encountered but some annoyance might be provided by slow skip function and no history/backtrack option. Overall, a decent yuri title with multiple endings, average anime art and soothing music. I can safely recommend if this is your genre: 6.7/10
It's been sitting in my library for 4 years before I finally played through it.... It goes like this: This is a neutral review. It is not bad. However, it is not great. It is also quite short, you can finish a route in a few hours. You have a small amount of CGs and backgrounds, but someone put an effort into making a small yuri-themed game. The artwork is a bit... simple, but it is clean and not awful. Writing could be better, and main character a irritated me. Heroines are a bit similar to each other visually, their faces specifically. So it could be bigger with more funding and time, but we've got what we've got in the end. If you have time and few bucks to burn you could get it. If you want somethin bigger and with more punch and more content, well, you could try "Spirits on the Roof" (18+, 24+ hours) or "Aoi Shiro" (15+, no adult content, 27+ hours).
It has caught my attention that the topic of this monologue discussion with the main point of allowing my person to share excerpt of my thoughts and critiques with greater audience interested in fictional stories with recognisable hand-drawn Japanese "anime" style about female human species with romantic and sexual attraction towards individuals with same gender, namely the digital semi-interactive text-focused game "The Tower of Five Hearts", has paid a substantial attention to the aspect of verbal narrative, needless to say, one of the crucial components of this type of entertainment media. Regarding to this matter, I would like to emphasize that described characteristic as over-complicated to be pleasurable in such amounts as it is uninteresting from narrative point of view because of its insufficiency of even more said over-complication to be humorous. That being said, this only serves as a impediment in process of advancement through the story, which on its own has barely anything exhilarant to bring into consideration. With also taking into attention the details of technical realisation, which quality is drastically below comfortable, and problematic graphical aspect, especially arts of main characters with low of insufficient visual quality, it is needless to say, that for me to call this product of art as flawlessly executed or providing considerable enjoyment will be a mockery. But nonetheless, due to the fact than this novel features lovable and pleasurable characters, who, fortunately, happens to have elaborated backstories and behavioural traits, in addition with romantic relationships between mentioned above, it would be necessary to say that I have experience some satisfactory episodes during my playthrough.
Steam Deck Experience: Playable
You will need to rebind controls or stick to the touch screen. Text may be hard to read. Game was fully functional otherwise.
Review:
It's asking for a lot of money, but it was ultimately okay. If it was cheaper, I'd recommend (maybe ~$8 USD). The only noteworthy part of this couple hour VN is the ~15 uncensored medium quality CG. The story and characters are very forgettable save for Kiri. She actually had some lore that made picking her awkward. I liked that, it's a shame that it doesn't go anywhere and nobody else is noteworthy. The plot is extremely linear with the choices only giving a few different pieces of dialogue or an extra CG except for the very end decision ultimately deciding who you end up with and giving you a CG with that person before ending the game. The story also has quite a few holes in it. You really have to turn your brain off or you realize there is a lot that doesn't make sense about nearly everything that goes on in this world or its characters. Other than that, It's got about 4 soundtracks, 8 low quality backgrounds, 6 low quality characters each with 2 poses and 3 barely different expressions. No voice acting, and 1 sound effect (maybe 2). Why does this game have loading screens (and long ones at that)?! This entire thing should probably be able to fit in memory. Even if that's not the case it should be able preload the next scene when approaching the end of the current scene and a lot quicker than it does. It doesn't even have expensive tech like Live2D or Emote.
super nice and cute
Una novela visual para adultos de corte lésbico. Las historias son simples y bien hechas, las ilustraciones coquetas y dependiendo de tus elecciones lo suficientemente gráficas.
