Played this game even before it went out in Steam and still played after the release in here. It's a bit unusual little game with non direct control of units, which reminds me about old Majesty. But overall rules are simple - you have a main base and you have to kill the boss, the classic as it is. So you may control only your main base, but have no authority over drones that it creates, and they fly around the base like bees. Still drones have their own priorities, passive abilities, behavior and other characteristics. Thus you have to lead your beehive to prosperity and get a lot of hardass drones to challenge the boss. But soon after you start the game you will realize that there are some subtle rules which the game doesn't tell you about. You need to spend some time to figure out the riddle behind this game's underlying mechanics, how they actually work and connected to each other. But I mean it's not really hard and mostly obvious, so you definitely will find your own intuitive way of playing, and your favorites drones that make synergies which suit your playstyle. Graphics is rather simple but not primitive, and reminds of old RTS games. And funny that it gives a satisfying feeling when you see your fully developed base with dozens of drones busy with their jobs. Like in city building games. By the way there are a lot of unit types. Most of them open after you play a little, but you need I guess less then five games to open them all and it's like 2-3 hours. Few game modes, like classic boss hunt, arena, and even PvP where one player takes the Boss role. Tho PvP works only as a split screen to play it on one PC with a friend. And Steam's Remote Play works too! Interesting enough that it's free, so why not to try it if you like unorthodox strategy games? The game can keep you enjoying for a several hours. And as I know developer wants to add some new stuff over time. I hope I will find you, my dear reader, in the leaderboards soon. (˙ω˙)🎮(˙∀˙)🎮

This game's first and second mission felt incredibly slow and the first mission was full of unbearab hand holding. Way to much text and not enough showing intuitive gameplay. Don't make me wait 10 seconds waiting for the disk that you insert to send commands. Make it instant so I am not just waiting watching a slow animation that does nothing important. Gameplay in the intro felt like reading a book that moved occasionally instead of an actual game. Would not recommend. Also even after the tutorial it is just slow af...

This is a really fun game and it comes highly recommended. However I have some minor complaints. Gameplay settings, such as the speed, loadouts etc. do not save in between sessions. These have to be manually set before every game if you close out beforehand. Unlocks do not carry over between devices either. Sometimes the drones are bugged and won't repair relicts or damaged colonies. Combat drones sometimes, but rarely, won't attack enemy targets. Fast mode has to be manually toggled after pausing. Don't be discouraged; the game is excellent.
Interesting mechanic plus pixel graphic that I like
Roboden is just an awesome and captivating strategy game about robots that grabs you from the first moment! You become the brilliant mastermind-commander of your robot colony, and your robots buzz around like busy bees, executing all your cunning plans. The task is simple - gather resources, grow new robots, and engage in epic battles with friends on the same screen. And the graphics in the game are simply marvelous - it's cozy and beautiful pixel art that instantly catches your eye. Each robot has its own unique features, and you can mix and match them to create your super-units that will be invincible! By the way, the game offers a variety of modes, so you always have choices on how to shake up your opponents. And the coolest part - the levels are randomly generated, so every time you start the game, a new thrilling adventure awaits you! You'll be itching to play again and again!
Roboden is a real time strategy game where much of the strategising has been simplified to make it accessible for those who do not want to play RTS games with complex systems. It is a simple enough game. You control a colony and decide what the units should prioritise, including security, growth, evolution, and resource gathering. Resources are needed for growth and evolution to make stronger robots that can fight against enemy robots, and be better at gathering and repairing too. I found the game a bit too basic for my tastes, but others may enjoy the simple aesthetics that does have a couple of complex systems underneath it.
