Excellent and immersive physics based puzzle game. If you like games like portal, this is in the realm. Two thumbs up.
**Recommended** Coming back to the first *The Talos Principle* after finishing both the original and *The Talos Principle 2* felt like revisiting an old friend. I wasn't expecting to be this impressed, but *Reawakened* reminded me why this series is one of my all-time favourites. The visual overhaul is gorgeous, but what I appreciate the most is that Croteam didn't lose sight of what made the original so special. The atmosphere, the soundtrack, the philosophical questions, and those "just one more puzzle" moments are all still here. It feels familiar in the best possible way while looking and playing like a modern release. I've seen a lot of discussions about performance, and it's only fair to mention them. Some players have reported stuttering and inconsistent performance, particularly on certain PC configurations. Fortunately, that wasn't my experience at all. I played the entire game with everything maxed out, and it ran flawlessly from beginning to end—no lag, no crashes, no stuttering. If I had one criticism, it's that whether this is worth the price depends on who you are. If you're expecting an entirely new game, you may come away disappointed because this is, at its core, a faithful remake with additional content rather than a brand-new sequel. But if you loved the original—or never had the chance to experience it—this is easily the definitive version. Games that genuinely make you stop and think are becoming increasingly rare. *The Talos Principle* has always been about more than solving puzzles; it's about questioning identity, consciousness, free will, and what it truly means to be human. Very few games manage to blend gameplay and philosophy this well. As someone who has completed the original game and its sequel, I can confidently say this is the best way to experience the beginning of the journey. Absolutely recommended.
Great remake with dlc included and new content.
Si no has jugado antes, el orden es ese mismo: The Talos Principle > Road to Gehenna > In the Beginning.
An already 10/10 game with prettier aesthetics and including the first and a new, second DLC? Not much to dislike for my tastes. Others reviews say that performance is an issue. True, I couldn't play it on highest settings, but then again, my hardware is outdated. I played it on high settings and only had noticeable performance issues sometimes when around the main tower. Since you do nothing but walk from door to door in that area, it was fine. --- Main Game --- Still great. I think I reviewed the original already so no need to repeat myself. Thought-provoking, melancholic, great characters. One of my top 5 games of all times I think. --- DLC: Road to Gehenna --- The old DLC. The weakest part of the game. Still good though.
It all feels like a subreddit meltdown and power-hungry mods trying to cling to their fake internet points. I cringed at times, but then again, I guess that is the reaction the developers intended.
The gameplay is basically the same with different, more challenging riddles. I don't know why but the riddles felt less satisfying in a way. Can't really explain why. --- DLC: In the beginning --- The new DLC. Shorter than Road to Gehenna, but not by much. More challenging riddles though. For some reason these were more enjoyable. They also had something unique: They were often difficult right from the beginning. Usually puzzles quickly expand and you have most, if not all, resources at your disposal. In this DLC you start with basically nothing most of the time and it is often already challenging to get even one step further.
I didn't expect to like this prequel storyline as much as I did. Then again, the character of Alex is a gem. The DLC managed to echo a bit of the same overwhelming melancholy I felt when I first finished the main game.
All in all a surprisingly good experience for a DLC I didn't even know I had bought.
TOO MANY PUZZLES Towards the end, I had done enough puzzles and just wanted to get on with the amazing story.
If you've already played it this isn't much improved. There is the odd occasion they have made things a little simpler, and it does look a lot better.
