Take a deep dive into Danya’s and Brahve’s heat and romance in The Symbiant RE:Union. The events take place after two Endings of The Symbiant’s main game.
[The following description contains spoilers for the previous game The Symbiant]
The first story will transport you to the planet of Cayama, where in the main game Brahve finds Danya in the space port and confesses his love to him. What happened to the Odarian in the last two years and why is he so set on getting Danya back after breaking up with him? And where in the world is the Symbiant?
In the second story with our love birds you visit Odaria, Brahve’s homeworld where the team meets his cousin. This story takes place after the happiest ending in the main game. You’ll get a chance to explore the luxurious hot spring resort, as well as the surrounding forest nearby and experience some exquisite one-on-one times with Brahve.

Assim como The Symbiant, The Symbiant Re:Union é extraordinário.

(I do my best to 100% any visual novel in both gameplay and achievements before reviewing, but the achievements are currently broken! Rest assured, I have every achievement in-game, but sadly they don't show up on my steam page. Bummer.) This review will heavily mention parallels between my previous review for the last game. I shouldn't need to say it but, please play the first Symbiant game before this one! The stories don't make sense at all otherwise.
Short Review
Gameplay: 8/10 Visuals: 10/10 Audio/Sound Design: 8/10 Voice Acting: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 9/10
Gameplay
8/10 Your standard visual novel, I use 5/10 as the standard rate for this software. The extra points come from the choices themselves. This rating is slightly better than the previous game, The Symbiant, purely because the menus are much better. Especially the replay feature! The original branching design was cool but ultimately a bit confusing. Much like the last game though, the story is very linear (even more-so in this case since there is only one ending per storyline), but that doesn't bother me because this is an intended sequel based off two of the endings in the first game. I was pleased to see two alternate storylines! I only thought there'd be one, so that was a fun addition!
Visuals
10/10 Much like the last game, the visuals are beautiful. The art remains my favorite style from this publisher, and I was sad to see it won't remain in their future Symbiant game. Still, I'm appreciating it while it lasts! Every art piece hits in this game!
Audio/Sound Design
8/10 Much like the previous game, the sound design is still just as good! Sadly nothing, yet again, stood out in the new tracks. A lot of the tracks were re-used too, so that's why nothing really changed in the rating.
Voice Acting
10/10 The voice actors remain incredibly pleasant! Still great work and nothing feels awkward or overexaggerated, or even underexaggerated!
Story
9/10 THIS is where the rating from the previous game really changes! The story in this HEAVILY clarifies some major flaws in the offical "bad" ending for the first game! (I hated that ending SO much, but after playing this game it really helped me feel some form of closure for how Danya was clearly wronged.) And for once, they gave Danya a backbone when put in a difficult situation! (Spoilers)
When Brahve basically tries to throw himself at Danya, and Danya firmly insists that they do not yet sleep with eachother seeing how horrible Brahve's headspace is. I was really not expecting them to give Brahve firm, valid boundaries after how the first game went.
Not to mention that the good ending's storyline was soooooooo cute! The only reason that a point was knocked off was because the good ending's story had a weird conflict,
Danya being injected by Brahve's symbiote and being basically put into a "heat"-like state,
but it was barely addressed other than being a minor issue that goes away with time. I would've liked to have some actual "meat" in the good ending's story, just like how there's clear conflict and resolution in the bad ending's story. In the end, this was still really fun and I am so happy I played it, as it addressed a lot of previous flaws in the first game's bad ending and turned it into a story I grew to love!
Finishing Notes
Basically, this game is much worth the money if you loved the first Symbiant game, ESPECIALLY if you had conflicting feelings about the official bad ending. It adds so much more depth and gives Danya the apology he well deserves (and the backbone he deserves, too). I'm glad I played this and went back to revise my first review upon the previous game. This series DEFINENTLY works better as a pair, neither is perfect as a stand-alone game.
Danya continues to steal my heart. Brahve continues to be a complex, intriguing individual. Juniper is still her loyal, confident, wise, and balanced self—and probably still the best friend you'll ever have. And now we meet at least two other important side characters: the much-anticipated Riemphea—Juni's partner, and Brahve's third cousin—Chohra. The Symbiant Re:Union continues to captivate me and send me on a rollercoaster of emotions with its storytelling. Although a bit shorter than the original and a bit more heavy in some ways in both storylines—(we'll get into that in a moment)—the pacing continues to deliver in a very balanced way, much like the first game. There are two major paths you can take within the sequel game: Cayama and Odaria. For the sake of not spoiling overmuch, both have "good" endings. Though each for me came with their own perks. [ The Odaria Path: ] Odaria assumes the storyline from the first game if you had the "perfect" ending, i.e., the only real "good" one with zero repercussions. Odaria is essentially the honeymoon phase of what life is and can be like for Danya and Brahve, as they explore the latter's home planet and Danya gets to know more about said planet, family (referred to as his clan), and their clan's 'empire' of sorts. Their lineage essentially goes back some thousand or so years, so it's especially intriguing. All the while, you remember that the "perfect" ending of the first game includes your three-way relationship with Brahve's symbiant, who survives because you chose (or rather overcame) its influence on Danya's mind, thus leading to said perfect ending where Brahve doesn't have to go through torment or sickness of any kind. And while all this is fine and great—and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see a cute, perfect scenario from our cute couple—I also felt like there were low-to-non-existing stakes at hand as a result. It felt incredibly sweet, but also like there was missing a bit of depth. You may have had a more balanced gameplay experience if you got to meet the bad apples from Brahve's family, but this unfortunately doesn't happen. So there's little risk. All in all, still a very lovely and heartwarming experience. I look at this route as the more "fan service" path gifted to the fans by the devs. There are many adorable scenes you get to experience throughout, and it's technically longer than the Cayama path. [ The Cayama Path: ] This leads me to the Cayama path—the first of the two options. This path represents the ending where although not on the main "good" path, it's the better of all the bad routes. Your favorite power couple decide to take a break due to Danya's betrayal mistake, and likewise Brahve's harsh words that drove the former to not only go into a deep depression and find his self-worth again, but took more than a couple of years to overcome. And although both of them reunite at the start right where the original branch left off, it's not without strain and difficulty. Brahve no longer seems like himself, Danya's not ready to take him back, and there's all sorts of tension and frustration between the two that seems like a hurdle that isn't going very well. Cut to... frustration and a long-time pent up energy, and you're in for some real treats to say the least. Make-up "snu-snu" becomes actually a good part of the equation to getting things back on track. But it's not long during and after that's where things become increasingly heavy. You get to understand why Brahve changed so much, what he had to endure since the time they broke up, and how lost he feels within his universe. All of it comes spiraling out of control as the weight of everything in his life comes crashing down on him. There's a lot of heavy dialogue, emotional trauma, and scenes where some instances may warrant a trigger warning to those who have experienced negative outcomes in real life. Through it all, however, I found Cayama's path to be a lot more rewarding and pulled on my heartstrings in ways Odaria wasn't able to do (despite how cheery, passionate, and romantic it was). Cayama's path was heavy, sure, but it was also more believable. Throughout some of the roughest scenes, I was crying tears of sadness, and also tears of joy and longing at much of Danya's words—many of which I found extremely relatable to my personal life. It was so much more raw (no pun intended). And more layered with nuance. There was depth to it that made the characters feel more well-rounded and complex. And that's exactly why even though it wasn't as rosy and smooth-sailing as Odaria's path, I wound up enjoying it more. The ending is still a very positive one, and I personally felt the backdrops were more my style of sci-fi wonderment and beauty. (Odaria does this well too, but with more fantasy-inspired, whimsical, organic shapes.) - - - - - [ TLDR: ] All this is to say, if you've loved the first game, you're bound to love the sequel. Just be prepared for a much deeper, psychological, and layered character arc full of dramatic elements if you go with Cayama; and a very joyful, happy-go-lucky, romantic, and sensual—but more simplistic—arc if you go with Odaria. Both were a very fun experience, but both are very polarizing. [ Final Thoughts: ] So incredibly glad to have played this. I never wanted it to end no matter which path I was on, and I still don't want it to feel as though it's ended even now that I'm done and gotten 100% completion in both games. The characters are absolutely fun and super adorable to get to know, and this definitely carries over extremely well from the first game. My biggest hope is that The Symbiant II will at least give us the very same universe even if we don't get our power couple again, or perhaps they will make a cameo if they do. All in all, the developers continue to amaze me with their production, and I'm so thrilled to have played these games! The Symbiant Re:Union will leave you feeling full of deep, emotional, and a great sense of closure from the previous iteration, and for any of its flaws that may exist, I personally couldn't have asked for more!
Amei demais!
