The Sojourn

If you're really into puzzle games, particularly first-person ones that are very light on plot, this is worth checking out. Keep in mind, however, that, while the game isn't long, it sure can feel like it is. The story that does exist is told in the abstract, through imagery, rather than dialogue. The puzzles themselves - as you'd expect - get progressively more complex until they add a new mechanic. I feel no shame in admitting that there were quite a few stretches where I just had to put the game down, step away, and come back to it later to spare what remaining brain cells I have left. Later, I'd come back to the game refreshed, realize I missed a key element, and continue trodding through. Environmentally, the game can be rather soothing, with its placid scenery and light music. All in all, it's a game I feel accomplished in completing, but it was most definitely a trudge.
