Alright. I've played through a few planned paths to the end of The Simplest Game in the World and have gotten a decent chain of words from the hidden game wrapped up as well. But I don't think I'll actually beat that part to unlock the other secret games within the hidden game, so I'm inclined to call it good for now. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3517712820 This is a cool and highly quirky little game, probably inspired by G.L.A.D.O.S. and Hal 9000, where the antagonist is the AI you are conversing with in the game. Who spends all its time messing with you while you also probably mess with it. Via typed selections or a refusal to type your selections. Speaking of typing, this is a type a response to get a response type of game. Keyboard only of course. And the real goal is to solve various undisclosed logic puzzles to unlock hidden/secret areas of the game/dialogue in the game where you reveal more puzzles. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3517712768 There are secret words that, if you sus them out, will unlock new dialogue. And if you aren't click happy on the keyboard, you will find the entry into the games within the game, which includes a game where the AI has you type any word that begins with "x" letter and potentially ends with the same letter depending on the turn, but also has to have a specific amount of letters in it. For example, type an 11-letter word that both begins and ends with the letter "C". Now type a 9-letter word that begins with the letter "E". Now type a 10-letter word that begins and ends with the letter "N". And so on. I believe you're supposed to string 50 of these together, and there is a generous timer attached to each phase. This is where I got a little hung up though, as the game doesn't recognize some of the more esoteric word options available despite itself using quite the esoteric selection of words on its turn. And IDK. I just don't feel like going back and forth between my phone and PC to find some words on the more challenging turns. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3517712800 Each playthrough might last five or ten minutes, although there are achievements for finishing with the bare minimum time possible based on how the dialogue is presented, another for finishing under a certain amount of time, and yet another for finishing after like 40ish minutes. Ultimately, the goal of this game is to mess with you in order to try to get you outside your comfort zone a bit and then challenge your logical mind to find solutions you may not have otherwise thought of. I think that is a very cool approach to things and is largely successful in doing so IMO. It's like two bucks retail or one buck during the current 2025 Steam Summer Sale (at the time of this writing). You're definitely going to get at least that much value out of the game, and I think it's certainly worth a look if you are interested in playing something a bit different that will also provide a mental challenge. Not recommended. If it was free, I'd say try this attempt at a 4th wall breaking game. There are no graphics, just text and although it is a little clever, it ends well before it gets interesting. The achievements show there is more than what's on the surface, so for those who like this style of game, you may find a little more entertainment than I did.

Initially, it appears as if the game can be completed in just five minutes by pressing keys on the keyboard. However, upon further exploration, it becomes evident that the title conceals secrets and hidden content waiting to be discovered. The game lacks any gameplay mechanics and instead engages players in a conversation with an AI, where certain keywords trigger new dialogues and achievements. The developers didn’t bother to add any menus or even a button to quit the game, only to stay true to that title.

🔷 When playing such a game, your level of enjoyment largely depends on your patience and curiosity. Uncovering all the secrets hidden in the game requires multiple playthroughs and experimentation. Although I couldn't find everything in the game, I’ll provide you with all the secret keywords I found during my playthrough. I only advise seeing them in case you’re missing out a on few.

Iolainy, immersion, free, any, esc, mini, game, never, exist, unlock, avaliable (this is not an error), where, not

📷 Visuals & Audio:

🔶 I am not really sure if it is okay to say that this game has visuals. The game mainly consists of a series of dialogues displayed on your screen as you interact with the AI. These dialogues appear on a retro-style monitor with a glitch-like effect, adding a touch of aesthetic uniqueness to the experience. However, if you're looking for elaborate visuals or any type graphical elements, you won't find them here. The focus is primarily on the textual interactions and the secrets hidden within the dialogues.

🔷 In terms of audio, the game just has a single audio effect that plays whenever the AI is speaking something. Except that, I don’t remember the game having any other audios.

📝 Main Pros and Cons:
Pros-

The dialogues are well-written.
The devs have added secrets to the game in a very clever way.
Very easy to understand.
Can run on most rigs easily.
Cons-

No gameplay mechanics.
No option to skip dialogues.
Very short.

😇 Honest Rating:

🔶 Since the game aims at keeping everything simple, I’ll also keep this simple. Even though "The Simplest Game in the World" lacks gameplay mechanics, it manages to captivate players through its mysterious elements. For just $2, it's worth exploring this minimalist experience and uncovering its secrets. However, do keep in mind that you’ll have to play it quite a lot of times to find all the hidden keywords. If you are someone who does not have the patience to do that, please do not buy the game!

Rating: 6.5/10 On my way to play an actual game.
If your favourite part of Superhot was not the gameplay, then buy this game. This sounds like one of the facetious Steam reviews. but I mean it earnestly. It told a really weird story in a really weird way, and so does this game. I say game, the only game you'll be playing is whether you can out-think the creator somehow. It really is as simple as pressing a button. Most of the game will be taking place in your head, and you'll have to trust that the creator knows you well. Sometimes that can devolve into a case of having to guess what the creator is thinking, in order to make progress. This game wouldn't work if it was made by a studio. It's very much an auteur experience, sold for cheap, but I'd say it's worth the price of admission.
This game is very simple. Possibly the simplest game in the world. I got everything I wanted but I am not satisfied. I never will be satisfied. I need more than a game, I need an alternate reality and immersion and customization if possible. Interesting meta game. It's pricy but I'll support the developer. I didn't really get all the achievements because I am lazy and I play games for the immersion. But congrats to the developer, there is no game more simple than this one. Yet.
Metafictional game where you want to find all the secrets. The title of the game’s not far from the truth. Most of the time you’re not required to do anything at all. You simply sit and observe the words on the screen. True, you must occasionally hit a key to advance the game, but that key is very specific, and you must adhere to the game's rules. The game is presented as text on an in-game computer screen. Someone is speaking to you and instructing you to hit a key. They want you to carry out their exact commands. If you interrupt them before they finish what they're saying, they'll be extremely rude to you and simply start the sentence again. The experience lasts around half an hour. You get an achievement for following the rules and you’re instructed to hit ESC to exit the game. You can't close the game in the usual way till then. There is no menu, and the only way out is to force quit. However, there are secrets to be found. If you look at the screen closely, you will notice various things that could lead to something more. The most obvious hint is that each key on the keyboard creates a unique pattern in the game. Then there's a series of numbers, flashing hearts, and specific words from the text. If you keep playing it a few times, you’ll open another part of the game. The only major criticism is that you can't see what you're typing. As if that wasn't unpleasant enough, you also have to press enter to confirm the word. You may have thought of the correct solution, but the game would not accept it because you unknowingly made a typo. Another small nuisance is that you need to quit the game if you want to try another path. Also, if you miss a clue and have to go through the normal game again, you won’t be able to skip forward.

Great game. Worth it. Bit difficult though.
