The Shadow People is a retro point and click horror adventure game with a minimalistic aesthetic. As a student cramming for finals, you drive all the way to school, sit through class, and try to slog your way back home. But fatigue sets in, and dark creatures dance in the edge of your eyesight.

I really enjoyed the game. However, it does have some flaws. Pros: I find the story, puzzles and atmosphere really enjoyable. The story is very cryptic, but I think it offers enough details to where the player can understand what is happening. It reminds me of some Lovecraftian stories where the player can't truly understand the horrors they are seeing. None of the puzzles were obtuse with a solution that makes the player say "That was bull****." The Gameboy aesthetics, music and general vibe really sell what the game is going for. They add to that Lovecraftian vibe by creating a barrier to the player's understand of what is happening. Cons: I really only had one main problem with the game which was the frequent crashing. The game crashed many times during my time with the game. At its worst, the game would crash less than a minute after it was opened. In Summation: I think the game is very enjoyable overall if you want to play a retro point and click. If you can deal with frequent crashes that I am sure the dev will fix at some point, the game's strong points will make you have a good time.

It's a fun little game. It has old-school adventure games interactivity. I have played it through once and I think I got the "good" ending (life is more important than grades). I don't think I will play through again to get the other endings though. The main issue I think is that the game does not utilize the "push" "pull" "close" and "talk" interactivities at all. I wish some puzzles utilized some of those. I also don't know if it has any use of the pendant thing and the brooch thing. It does not take away from the game too much though, and as the game is free anyway, I think you should try it yourself.
I had to spend a lot of time looking through discussions to figure out that the developers intentionally removed easy access to an essential feature of the game at random IMPORTANT points because they couldn't figure out how to develop the game in a way so that people weren't playing the story line out of order. The music and graphics were way more annoying than scary, and the story line was overdone They have 5 endings but not because they give you an opportunity to do the story line differently, specifically because they toss you in a maze-like area and there are several different path you can take to finish. Seems like a cop-out and lazy writing/game-making
This game is just like real life except no sex so 9/10
THIS GAME IS NOT EPILEPSY FRIENDLY - IT GIVES YOU A WARNING AT THE BEGINNING WHEN OPENING THE GAME. I recommend this game to everyone since it's free and pretty eerie but mostly unsettling. I will say the jump-scare got me pretty good and that got a nice laugh out of me. There's 5 endings so there is replay ability which is nice but if clock puzzles are hard for you, you will probably need a guide. I did encounter two errors while playing this game: 1 being a blue screen crash while trying to save the game for the first time and 2
getting stuck in the tunnels at the cracked wall and the event / "scare" not triggering the first two times and therefore getting stuck there.
I had to reload my save 2-3 times in order to fix it.
Can we stop for a moment and appreciate how many amazing free games there are on Steam? I was browsing through them one day, found this spooky looking point-and-click game (right up my alley, I love pixel art games) and it's absolutely amazing! Of course it's relatively short and once you get all the endings you might not want to play it again, but I really enjoyed it :D
Cool short (15-20 minutes) point'n'click quest. Nice pixel art, it's simple most of the time, but the jumpscares are detailed and are genuinely freaky. The short cutscenes are just pixelated camera footage and they look really messy, which sucks. They clearly tried to do something like FAITH's rotoscoped cutscenes, but eh, could've been better, but they're vibey enough. Many references to Junji Ito and Lovecraft works. The flashing lights during jumpscares and white flash during screen transitions are somewhat annoying. Some ending require permanently missable items, but the game is short enough, so it's not a big problem. 5 endings.
Pretty solid horror point and click adventure I recommend playing it but here are some quick points about it to help you decide: Pros: -It's FREE -Interesting story -References to other horror media are always cool -Nice GB style graphics and soundtrack -Multiple endings for more replayability and most of them are cool and unique Cons: -Soundtrack is a bit repetitive and it's not looped properly so it can be a little annoying -The interaction menu has a lot of options but a lot of them are not relevant or feel useless -One of the endings is pretty much impossible to get unless you get lucky (or use a guide) and can have you searching for hours otherwise for something that may not be worth the time. -Cheap jumpscares.
A neat little "MacVenture-like" with a charming Gameboy aesthetic! Can be finished in one sitting. Didn't notice any bugs. Runs great. Plus, it's free! Recommended for casual players and point & click fans.
