About

Imagine any fantasy RPG, but with traditional aspects simplified and turned inside out.
You don't need to eat food to heal - just pluck a piece of bread into a wound.
No need to sort out what’s to sell to a merchant: everything you collect is simply considered as "loot" and you sell a pile of such loot by weight.
There is an inventory and leveling up, but no complex skill-trees and inventory management.
The Dragon, the main antagonist(?), constantly glitches and breaks the game's rules. Find out why! Well... or don't. It's your choice, and it matters, like choices in RPGs should.
NO FISHING MINI-GAMES.

Dungeons are held by the Island’s administration. There is a technical floor, the workers of which make sure that torches are lit, traps are working and monsters are healed after a raid. Gritty secrets are hidden on the lowest floors, which can give you a chance to completely flip the storyline.

Carefully plan your targets, moves and ammo. Get ready to sweat!

Stock up with torches. There are plenty of places to explore!

You're stuck on an Adventure Island. There's a local attraction - the Dungeon, where you can raid, explore, loot, gain experience and level up. Just buy an adventurer's ticket, pass a turnstile, enter the elevator and choose the floor.
The workers of the Island's administration make sure that traps are working, torches are lit and monsters are healed after raids. At the first glance, everything seems PERFECT for an aspiring adventurer, so why leave?
Turns out that everything is not as it seems. There's a dark, dirty secret that the Cool King is hiding. Which is not cool. Monsters are tired of the constant respawn loop, their lives are like a groundhog day.
But the main monster, the Glitchy Dragon, went out of control and broke the game's rules in order to find the right person for his (in)genius plan. Maybe it's you? It's up to you to decide!

This is a really high quality game with lots of easter eggs that skyrim fans will love!! even tho it has plenty of comedy and doesnt take its story too seriously, its still a lot of fun to play bc the gameplay and overall content are really good and addictive. The main objective is exploring dungeons, where youll gather loot, level up, buy better weapons and armor, and gradually take on deeper and more challenging dungeons until you reach the final floor and defeat the final boss to complete the campaign. besides that there's a whole open world island to explore, full of side quests to discover. Its a hidden gem that I recommend to any fan of rpgs, skyrim and dungeon exploration.
It's easy to learn and generally ok, but a bit basic and juvenile for my taste.
Hey man, sometimes I just wanna chill. I just want some colorful medieval fantasy SIMPLE leveling mechanics so I dont have to think too much about anything. If anything, I just wish I had a reason to go back. Seems against the point of the game, but if I had some kind of job or whatever mechanic would trigger whatever my brain chemistry is looking for I'd be happy.
Not for me.
funny little game
TLDR: A Skyrim parody that burns through its jokes fast and replaces them with soulless fetch quests, shallow combat, and enough crashes and bugs to sour what remains.

PROS:
➕Funny Skyrim references/parodies ➕Lots of secrets/good exploration
CONS:
➖Graphical pop-in ➖Crash to desktop count = 5 (Including a time I lost an hour of progress in the final dungeon due to being unable to save) ➖No saving in the longest part of the game ➖Massive difficulty spike near the end ➖Bugs
Content (Game world/Narrative) – [6/10]
The game world is set in a cartoony kingdom chocked full of Skyrim references. This is a full-on parody with many guards having arrows sticking out of their knees. It's a first-person perspective game with some good exploration. There’s lots of secrets and areas to explore. Sticking with the Skyrim theme, there’s definitely an open-world element but the map is maybe 1/10th the size of Skyrim. The story revolves around being an adventurer in this land. You complete quests for various different NPCs and eventually have a path to choose for one of two (or both) different endings. The narrative isn’t deep and being a parody game doesn’t take itself seriously. I felt the story was simply average - not good or bad.
Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – [5/10]
The gameplay loop revolves around completing quests to progress the main story. The quests consist of mostly fetch and kill quests, nothing very deep. There is small progression in the form of upgrades to your sword, armor, and gun. Progression is tied to gold as a currency where you mostly collect “Loot” and convert the loot at vendors to gold at a rate of something like 20 loot -> 1 gold. There’s also a small sort of talent tree where you gain 3 points on leveling up and choose between ~10 different stats. The combat is a very simple attack or charge attack, block, shoot gun, and breath attack with like 5 different breaths. Considering the breath has a 60-second cooldown and the gun typically does poor damage and costs ammo, you’ll typically be just attacking and blocking the majority of your time. This gets rather boring after a few hours as the game desperately needs some sort of ability. The difficulty has a weird curve. 90% of the game is so easy that I never needed to heal, then the last 10% instantly becomes so difficult that you become 1 or 2-shot constantly. Definitely not a fan of the cliff-increasing difficulty as it can make the player think they are doing something wrong/missed something. The hardest parts of the game are in the dungeon areas, where there’s conveniently no saving allowed. Combine that with the crashes and it's quite easy to lead to loss of progress.
Technical (Graphics/Performance) – [3/10]
The graphics are okay, and continues the theme of the game being simple. I’d say this is around PS2-era fidelity. The troubling part comes from the performance issues. Not only did I experience multiple crashes, but performance dipped with a lot of on-screen action with enemies, which tells me the game is unoptimized due to its low fidelity. Furthermore, there’s also excessive pop-in of assets that are shockingly close to the player and become very noticeable, not only world elements like trees and collectibles, but enemies too. There’s also a lot of bugs. Nothing game breaking, but very frequently loot and enemies clipping through walls/dropping through the floor, NPCs breaking when after being attacked, many (intended?) misspells in NPC dialogue, there’s a ton of bugs here. 1440p @ 240hz | installed on SSD
Audio – [5/10]
There’s nothing special about the music or sound effects. There’s no voice acting, just different pitches of beep-boops.
Replay Factor (Longevity) – [3/10]
Considering it’s somewhat of an open world game, the replay value is actually low here. There’s not that many questions and they are all very linear. The only choice the player can make is the endings. There’s not much reason to ever replay other than achievements or if you liked the game.
Final Verdict – [4/10]
The RPG is not THE RPG it wants you to think it is. It’s a first-person action game that banks a bit heavily on its Skyrim parody without offering anything that made Skyrim so great. The exploration, the story, the character progression, the mechanics, and player choices, are all either simplified to the point of Fisher Price level of “My first RPG”, or just simply not even available. Even on the side of it being a parody, it somehow manages to completely throw away the humor aspects very quickly into the game, leaving a rather mundane and shallow fetch-quest-athon in its wake. I know it sounds like I ripped it apart up there, and it kinda did, but The RPG is not a terrible game. In fact, I would say if it wasn’t for the plethora of technical issues I experienced, it would be a solid recommendation for an RPG that’s a little off-beat. In closing, I want to focus a bit on the core of the game, technical problems aside. First, the writing/humor. I expected much more of a comedic game given how it looks, the infamous meme opening, and the constant Skyrim references. I really wish it kept those going, but the novelty wears off quickly and isn’t really brought up again by the NPCs. Second, the RPG mechanics were a bit of a letdown and overly simplified. The combat gets painstakingly boring at the end when enemies health becomes crazy high and each combat encounter is just minutes of attacking and blocking (because they are conveniently immune to your only other ability - the breath attack). Lastly, the quests. The quests are the lowest tier of quests, being mostly fetch quest with little-to-none of the humor taken advantage of with the parody setting. There could have been some great opportunities for more Skyrim quest references, but apart from the handful of quests, the remaining ones are just soulless fetch/kills. Overall, if I experienced no bugs or technical problems, I would probably give The RPG a 5 or 6 out of 10 and a recommendation. Since the technical parts really soured the already average experience, I can’t recommend this game.
Recommend? (Price) [Y/N]

No
$15 base price is a bit steep for a story that can be completed in under 3 hours if rushing. I 100% the game and it took me under 10 hours. If you are interested in this game, I’d suggest waiting for a sale a bit below the $10 price point. You can find my curator page here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Synik_GR
So this is one of the more creative works on Steam. It kinda pokes fun at certain video game trops, especially those in (You guessed it) RPGs. Especially Skyrim, as you would presum seeing the game's images. Gameplay-wise, it's worth exactly one playthrough, but none more. So I'd argue that buying it on sale is the way to go.
