It's astounding.

Ein kleines witziges Spiel welches als Hommage an den Kult Klassiker funktioniert. Teilweise etwas happige Hüpfpassagen aber dank den unendlichen Continues locker in ein paar Stunden zu schaffen. Der Sound wurde ebenfalls gut ins Spiel integriert und hat sogar Once in a While im Repertoire. Für Fans des Films ein Muss!

8-bits känslan är fantastisk! Jag skulle vilja kunna göra mer än att kasta lådor och pallar på "monstren" men hey, jag är ändå nöjd med spelet. Jätteroligt.

Not perfect but many of its flaws (like the fact 50% of the game just recycles old levels) get excused due to the kind of retro shovelware this is clearly trying to emulate. Its at least better than the old "Rocky Interactive Horror Show" *shudder*... tho that ones later iteration DID have FMVS featuring Richard Obrien... Oh well. My fav part of 100%ing this was using the fireballs to launch myself up to the crystal in the lab. Absolute kino! This game will do nicely while we wait for any sort of adaptaion of Revenge Of The Old Queen (like thats ever going to happen). I should also note that the sequel graphic novel "Bride Of Rocky Horror" is releasing alongside this game so... thats naiceee. Maybe we might get a Shock Treatment game next?? (fingers crossed.)

It's very short, the level design is kinda lazy, and it's kinda just repetitive. The story is accurate to the movie, and the soundtrack is great. It's also very overpriced. I beat the entire game and got all achievements besides new game plus in just over an hour. Overall, it's alright. Not worth ten bucks though.

I decided to get all the achievements in this game, which involves picking up 6 collectibles, doing an easy challenge and playing the game twice. All told this took me 3.6 hours, which for the price I bought it at ($4) is fine. Unfortunately though, this game is shallow. The gameplay is pretty unrelated to Rocky Horror. The levels' enemies (excluding bossfights) consist of flying brains, skeletons in drag, and flying skeleton heads. The primary way you fight these enemies is by throwing boxes. You play as three different characters: Brad, Janet, and Dr. Scott. The differences between them are minimal. Brad has extra health than the others, Janet is slower (?), and Dr. Scott is faster than Brad. It would've been more interesting for each of them to have their own special moves or something rather than these minimal differences. The fighting is not the major gameplay challenge though, that falls to the platforming. It's passable, it leaves a lot to be desired in specific areas. This game is not necessarily easy, but where it's challenging it only ever became frustrating to me. The checkpoints are sometimes very badly placed. This is most egregious with Eddie's bossfight, where it seems the intended way to fight him is by using a box to push him back until Frank enters the arena and kills him. The problem is that if you die once, you respawn without a box. This leaves you in a death spiral where you have to avoid being hit by a boss with literally 0 telegraphing on his attacks. Getting back to the platforming though, it definitely has its moments where it feels like a troll level from Mario Maker or something. Fragile blocks that fall when you step on them look exactly the same as their ordinary counterparts. The game's main pull is the soundtrack, which is a great 8-bit rendition. No complaints here. The cutscenes vary greatly in effort put into them. Almost none are animated, there's no voice-acting (I don't think this would be a good choice, I just want to emphasize that you're looking at a disembodied head talking in a void) and only a few cutscenes have anything to look at. Another problem is that, until new game plus, there's no fast forward or skip button for dialogue. This isn't so much of a problem, except that the text scroll speed is fairly slow, and there is a lot of text directly borrowed from the script. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this game unless you're a huge Rocky Horror fan and want to see all the media around it.
