The Plucky Squire follows the magical adventures of Jot and his friends - storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book.
When the malevolent Humgrump realizes he's the villain of the book - destined to lose his battle against the forces of good for all eternity - he kicks the heroic Jot out of its pages and changes the story forever.

The shift from 2D to 3D is pretty neat, and I think it's worth taking a look just on that alone. However, it's admittedly more of a style-over-substance kind of thing, since the core gameplay is pretty basic and the game instead relies on a variety of minigames to keep things fresh. But it all functions perfectly fine, so I really can't complain.

A história é envolvente, os personagens são extremamente carismáticos e a ideia de acompanhar uma aventura que acontece dentro de um livro, guiada por um narrador, é simplesmente brilhante. What a fun and ingenious little game. It starts like an old school Zelda game before throwing in some Forbidden Forest, Punch Out, Baba, Parappa the Rapper and Bust a Move mini games. Then the really cool twist of leaving the Zelda style Picture book and entering a near photo realistic childs desk full of puzzles and cardboard structures. The story unfolds in a bright and breezy manner and doesn't get bogged down at any point. It's not the longest game but it respects your time with barely any filler bar some collectables. Controls are fine in game and for all the mini games. It's a love letter to simpler times when a childs imagination was more important than a screen and comes Recommended 81/100
Short and sweet. The game can be completed in under 10 hours but the quality of the experience is very good. It’s a great game to play with children since the whole world is basically a children’s book made by a 10 year old kid. I loved switching between 2d and 3d worlds to complete puzzles and collect things. I loved the whole game but for 30 dollars I wish it had a couple things: 1. Some cute voice acting other than the narrator. The narrator did an excellent job but I bet some quality VA would have helped even more. 2. I wish there was a way to see which chapter I was missing art/glitchbugs to collect so I knew where to go back and replay. The only other disappointment I had was when I met up with my friends (one is a mage and the other is like a drumming brawler rocker dude) I was excited to see how they would help the main protagonist fight and complete puzzles. Unfortunately they’re only there as side characters. They never really join you in combat. I mean they do later on but it’s passive. I was hoping to get some magic combo abilities or some tag team moves. It’s fine that it didn’t have this though. The game was plenty fun and enjoyable without it.
