It does everything I like. So I like it.
A solid cheap, short, old school styled survival horror game. This game is very easy but has a decent atmosphere. The music reminds of me of a cheap RE1 soundtrack which worked. You can get multiple playthroughs for achievements which doesn't take that long.
Just about right length to not make you feel bored. It's ok, get it if you want something lovecraftian to spend an hour of your weekend.

okay i guess
Not very scary and pretty short. The game was fun, even with
piano puzzle bug
hope the dev fixes it soon, had to start over 4 times because of it lol. Price is fine. I hope to see more games from the dev and see how they improve.
SPOILERS This game starts STRONG. The atmosphere and sound design have crisp, clear intent. The setting is inspired and the interactivity of the environment is engrossing. Then there's a CLEAR change of direction for the game about 20 minutes in. It's no longer a horror game. It's the most jank, frustrating, un-tense version of itself. The enemies show up and they're behind every single door waiting to get a free hit off without so much as a sound effect for the hit or the swing. Your first instinct is to use the whiskey bottles you've been finding all over the place but they only stun them for a fraction of a second and the corridors are so small that you're forced to run through them while stunned and you get hit ANYWAY. Then you find out that you should have saved those bottles because you get a flare gun that needs the enemies to be soaked in whiskey to be set ablaze (which there is also no animation/change to suggest they are) and what felt like 90% of the time the flare would bounce off and do nothing so you've wasted 2 precious resources on one of a dozen dudes in the same corridor so you might as well reset because your one hit from dead and would rather lose 2 minutes of progress instead of 15. tl;dr The first 20 minutes of the game are phenomenal and then all the buildup is ruined with jank enemies and mechanics. It's a shame because this was shaping to be something truly special. Hope to see the devs skills improve, they clearly have the capability of creating atmosphere.
For the price, its a good pretty good survival horror. The graphics are old fashioned PS style and look dated and gritty in the best possible way - it creates a dark, uneasy atmosphere and leaves you wondering what those pixels are in the distance which you can't quite make out. Graphical choices like this are perfect for horror games in this sense, as your brain cannot easily comprehend your surroundings and your subconscious is left with no choice but to fear the worse, which really drives the tension and often dread. The music, although nothing astonishing, is really good at creating a distorted, uneasy environment where something seems off. The music has a classic feel and a simplicity to it - it drives the atmosphere and the tension with a small collection of carefully selected notes, manipulating the tone of the game to sinister perfection. I mean, I wouldn't listen to it on Spotify coming back from Piccadilly Station or pump it out of a boombox in the London Underground. I would not attempt to woo a lady with this soundtrack, because my love life is already pretty disappointing to be completely honest. And I really don't think that would make an improvement. I actually think that would make my love life worse. But one thing is for sure - if that lady played this game, she would probably tell me the music is suitable and effective and then proceed to continue to avoid me. The puzzles are pretty good, nothing groundbreaking but I would say they are the right level of difficulty. For a game of this price, the puzzles were just fine. There was a time in one of the later puzzles that I began to feel some frustration, until I figured out that I had been temporarily r3tarded and did not notice the fairly obvious environmental clue (not saying exactly what in case of spoilers). Some other people do not seem to like the puzzles and that some are maybe too difficult. I personally do not see the issue and to be honest they are not that difficult. In my opinion. Please don't get offended. I am sure you were just tired and couldn't think correctly, or you are too young to have a well-developed brain and it is past your bedtime. JUST JOKING of course. I can see how you might miss something occasionally. Maybe. Apparently there are or were some glitches, but I experienced none. This tells me that they were fixed which is always good. Even if there are glitches, they are (at least in my experience) few and far between. For a small, affordable indie game, it is evident to me that a lot of care and passion was put into it and it runs well. That being said, there was one time I exited a room and almost instantly died because a monster had set its spawn position right outside and I had little time to react. This was only one time and I did not lose a lot of progress anyway. Talking about monsters, the monster design is decent given the price and size of the game, although in my opinion they are not as scary as they could be and the sense of horror their presence creates is far inferior when compared to other monsters in horror games or the Lovecraft mythos. For example, Cthulu is supposed to be an unfathomable creature risen from the deep, unknowable depths, seemingly infinite in size and magnitude, with a form and presence that the human mind cannot comprehend and is driven insane as a result. In this game, the monster is a glorified zombie with a squid for a head. At first they might creep you out a little, make you uneasy with their grotesque gurgles and might also give you a fright every now and again. But with enough practice, they are easy to kill and / or avoid and become more of a minor nuisance than anything - like Jehovah's Witnesses or postmen chasing you with letters from His Majesty's Revenue & Customs or officers from the BBC making a friendly, polite enquiry about the validity of your telly licence (a.k.a. arse t wats). Rant aside, I would have personally chosen to give the monster more terrifying sounds that inspire dread, are unrecognisable or undefinable but still relatively simplistic to fit the style and I would have only had one monster that could appear anyway and any time. If I created the game, the monster would be indestructible but you could scare it away with the alcohol and flare trick - like Alien Isolation. And the monster would have a more unique concept - not just a zombie body with a squid head. One other complaint I do have is that the lockers just do not seem very useful to me. I have gone in them before, but the monsters seem to see me anyway. Even then, you just don't need them. Just press Q and then click on their body whilst holding the flare gun and job is done. On the bright side, the flare gun is a relatively unique and interesting concept - soak them in alcohol, pull the trigger and torch them like napalm calamari. My final complaint is that you cannot choose the hardest difficulty straight away, which I just don't get. I play most games on the hardest difficulty or at least a harder difficulty to maximise the chance of loosing it all and therefore maximise tension and engagement. Overall however, it is a good game that does a lot right and a lot less wrong excluding the few points made above. I would highly recommend a play-through. It is a fantastic little Lovecraft horror for just under two Great British pounds. Now I am going to go and do something else with my evening and stop wasting my time on some stupid review that dwarfs the size of the entire collection of the works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. I need a f uckin life. F uckin hell mate
Was promised a lovecraftian survival-horror, got a boat flooded with an excessive number of Cthulhu-looking enemies instead. It's a shame, 'cause the game had really good atmosphere before the enemies spawned.
It is a pretty solid game. I'm not too big a fan of the enemies, they are too many, and they are sort of everywhere so I had to sprint past them constantly. They quickly removed most of the horror feeling in the game. The puzzles were pretty good, nothing too crazy, I could solve it all without much of a struggle. I did struggle to find one ladder though, I spent probably 30-45 minutes until I gave up and checked a guide. It wasn't very visible due to the lack of light and contrast. The flashlight could also use an upgrade. Where the game really shined was the atmosphere. Very simple music, but it really did the trick and set the mood, I don't think it needs to be any more complex. The visuals were great too, and I loved how the rooms you enter actually makes sense with the layout of the boat. Everything felt very interconnected. I'd love to see more games by this creator. Preferably some other type of horror that isn't horror survival, but that's just because I'm generally not a fan of those lmao. Definitely check this game out if you like indie horror.
地图和解密设计的不错,但是 怪物太多太烦了,最关键的是?没有保存?????????????????我在走廊里被4个章鱼围住了之后 左右为难 然后没有保存!!!!
