That is until you get a call from a FBI agent telling you that you only have ten minutes to find a bomb in the mall before it explodes.
Will you pull the fire alarm and try to evacuate everyone or will you gamble with everyone's lives and try to find the bomber?
Genre
Eine kurze Visual Novel
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Yeah the mall sure does explode
Developed and published by Ryclaw Games, The Mall Explodes! is a compact visual novel that thrives on urgency and tension. The game places players in the role of a shopping mall security guard whose otherwise routine shift is interrupted by a shocking phone call. An FBI agent warns that a bomb has been planted somewhere inside the building and will detonate in only ten minutes. With hundreds of innocent people potentially at risk, the player must quickly assess the situation, gather information, and determine who is responsible before disaster strikes. The game's premise immediately establishes a strong sense of pressure. Unlike many visual novels that gradually build toward their central conflict, The Mall Explodes! throws players directly into a crisis. The limited timeframe becomes the foundation of the entire experience, forcing decisions to carry real weight. Every conversation, investigation, and choice feels important because there is little room for error. This constant pressure helps maintain suspense from beginning to end and keeps the narrative moving at a brisk pace. A notable strength of the game is its emphasis on player choice. Rather than following a completely linear storyline, the narrative branches according to the player's actions. Decisions regarding evacuation procedures, interactions with suspicious individuals, and investigative priorities all contribute to the final outcome. The game features multiple bad endings alongside a successful conclusion, encouraging players to revisit the story and explore alternative paths. This structure adds replay value and rewards experimentation despite the game's relatively short runtime. The writing succeeds in making the protagonist feel grounded and relatable. Instead of controlling a trained law enforcement officer or action hero, players take on the role of an ordinary security employee suddenly faced with extraordinary circumstances. This perspective enhances the tension because the character is forced to rely on judgment and quick thinking rather than specialized expertise. Supporting characters, including fellow security personnel and mall visitors, help create a believable environment and contribute to the mystery surrounding the bomber's identity. Visually, the game benefits from an extensive collection of illustrations that help bring its characters and setting to life. The artwork adds personality to conversations and reinforces important dramatic moments throughout the story. Considering the game's modest length, the amount of visual content is impressive and helps ensure that the experience remains engaging. The mall itself feels like a living environment filled with people whose safety depends on the player's actions, making the stakes feel more meaningful. The short playtime works both for and against the overall experience. On the positive side, the narrative remains focused and avoids unnecessary filler. The pacing aligns well with the countdown premise, ensuring that tension rarely fades. However, some players may feel that the intriguing concept could have supported a longer story with deeper character development and more extensive investigative mechanics. The game leaves a strong impression but may conclude before some players feel fully satisfied. Despite its limited scope, The Mall Explodes! effectively delivers what it sets out to achieve. It combines a high-stakes scenario, branching narrative design, and engaging decision-making into a concise thriller that remains entertaining throughout. Fans of visual novels, interactive fiction, and choice-driven mysteries will likely appreciate its focused storytelling and replayable structure. While it may not be the most expansive entry in the genre, it demonstrates how a simple premise executed with confidence can create a memorable and suspenseful experience. Rating: 5/10
