The Royal Game of Ur is a board game thought to be played as early as 2600BC. The Lost Game seeks to restore this ancient tradition with a twist. The board is entirely customizable, allowing players to reshape the strategy of the game and even share it with others through the Steam Workshop.

It's a competently made game of Ur. The board and tile designs are solid, and the background textures look fine. There's an odd image behind the main menu that doesn't quite mesh with the rest of the mild textures and backgrounds, but that's not detrimental. The dice are a pretty basic 3D model which could use some more texture, but the sound effect works well enough and the dice rug is a nice touch. Gameplay is smooth, except for the fact that the pieces have no movement animation so you sometimes miss where the opponent has moved. The most space for improvement is the level editor. There is currently a (select square)/(select tile) system that is a little tedious, and the immediate instinct is to drag and drop. Additionally, path planning does not allow you to have gray and black paths overlap in opposite directions, so you can't create a split path (paths can join, just not split). Overall, it's a perfectly functional game.
This is a nice and simple digital version of the ancient game of Ur. I like that you can make your own custom maps. Here is a let's play for anyone curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZBBWsVemDo
This new edition of the Game of Ur has faithful designs to the original game with new spins. The addition of the workshop allows us to experience new ways of playing the Game of Ur. The AI proves to challenge me as I play the game. The UI is easy to understand. The gameplay is smooth with the movement of the tiles and the rolling of the dice. Overall a fun game to introduce you to the age old game of Ur.
good UR sim
Only thing to make this better would be able to make bigger boards in the game editor.
Great recreation. Prompted me to purchase an actual game board.
