The Legend Returns

An ok game for a random player, a very good game for a retro slasher enthusiast! The Legend Returns reminded me of the very first PuppetCombo games: a bit rough, not for everyone, but deliciously amtospheric! I have been following Fear Scape on itch.io for quite some time now, and I am happy to claim that this is undeniably their most mature game, the most complete, with a prologue, an introduction, an actual action section, and a final epilogue. The build-up is very nicely constructed, it effortlessly sucks you in and makes you keep playing to see how the story evolves. In particular, I appreciated that we actually perform all the actions of our character, such as eating, taking the elevator, waiting for the bus, and so on, rather than just watching a black screen that stands for a "fast forward". All of this is not boring as it may sound, instead it helps in increasing the tension, because you know for certain that something gruesome is going to happen, but you don't know when and where. Personally, I think this is MUCH scarier than meaningless jumpscares or exaggerated gore scenes. The actual action part is well done, too. It succeeded in making me feel hunted down all the time by an enemy that really shows no mercy, but without being unnecessarily frustrating. The killer himself is not just a random masked guy, he has his own story, and this is another detail I immensely appreciated, because I start being sick of games that just propose some random maniac or ghost without charisma. I think I have just a few minor complaints about this game: - the voice over is emotionless, it breaks the atmosphere, personally I would have preferred no voices at all, just written dialogues - if you are too close to an item you can't pick it up, you have to be at a precise distance, and this may lead to dangerous situations if the killer is close by - if you open doors from the wrong side you get stuck into them, and you are forced to close them again to get free And that's all I think. Overall I liked this game very much, I will surely play it again, and I recommend it to all fans of PuppetCombo and of retro slasher flicks. Well done Fear Scape, keep up the good work! Cheers guys!

this game so bad its good it changed my life

Una joya del horror retro. Captura a la perfección la atmósfera de los clásicos de PS1 con una tensión constante, un asesino implacable y mecánicas de sigilo bien pensadas. Visualmente crudo, narrativamente intenso. Si te gusta el terror de verdad, The Legend Returns no te va a decepcionar.

Starting with the story, it's very good, it also explains the murderer's story, something simple but at the same time complex and with intrigue. The atmosphere was 10/10 and the chase scenes too, the only thing where I played is that maybe a little more dialogues, I don't know if they are few because as I said I still haven't finished it, it's that I love games with dialogues. Keep it up, you're on the right track, and I'll finish the game tomorrow.

Даже для такой стилистики аля "типа старая игруха на пс1" игра сделана супер халтурно и ни в какое сравнение с играми Puppet Combo не идет. В принципе за 80 рублей взять можно, но в стиме существуют и более интересные игры за такую цену. 3/10

le jeux et bien mais l'ambiance fait pas vraiment peur . le début et vraiment bien . et se que je vous conseil oui et nn si il et en promo oe je donne la note de 5/10
