I consider this game complete and am now focusing on new projects, but I’m really proud of what we made together. I may revisit Humble Bee down the road, but for now, I’m excited to keep moving forward.

This is a really charming game that clearly has a lot of love and effort put into it. The attacks feel crisp, and there are many combos you can put together. The story is fun and there are a lot of Easter Eggs. I appreciate the Sonic the Hedgehog approach to a bullet heaven game. However, there are two main issues it suffers from that I’m not sure can be fixed at this stage of the game: - The maps are small, and there are loading times between areas. Even taking a single step into a new section triggers a load screen, and most barrels you jump into also lead to a loading screen. This is the first survivor-like game I’ve experienced with such a system, and it disrupts the game's overall flow. I would prefer to fight in a single contained area and have new areas unlock, rather than facing frequent loading screens back-to-back. - The game has an element of dimensionality, with cliffs and ledges, and enemies can jump on their own. However, it’s not always clear what constitutes flat ground versus a cliff. It can be difficult to determine if a boss is six feet above you or right next to you. To improve this, there needs to be a visual indicator—such as shadows—to better convey the game's dimensionality. Alternatively, the game could adopt a 2.5D perspective or simply utilize a flat design. I'm going to be checking back on this one because I think it's a strong debut and this game developer has a bright future.
Fun little game, cute art style, good music. An all around enjoyable little game for cheap. 10/10 Not enough water.
This game is the BEE'S KNEES! Really fun game! Game has great humor and great moments of PURE CHAOS! Can 100% recommend!
Cute, simple and fun.
Bees for life! Very nice game, found it thanks to steam next fest. Supporting the dev with this review :) It's a charming pixel-art survivors-like game brimming with heart and creativity. As the last bumblebee, you’ll explore a vibrant open world filled with hidden paths, wield magical bee powers, and face off against hordes of demonic bugs in action-packed battles. The gameplay masterfully combines exploration, survival, and combat, encouraging players to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of the bumblebees while delivering a subtle environmental message. With its delightful art style, engaging mechanics, and heartfelt story, The Last Humble Bee is a refreshing and meaningful adventure that buzzes with charm.
UnBEElievable. Great pixel artwork. Fun combat. Can't wait to try out all the card combinations!
Just beat the game twice now, its really fun! The music is great and I really like the art style and gameplay. It's not the most difficult, but that doesn't mean you can just swing and win without a worry. The deck building aspect is cool and the cards themselves are fun, even if a few of them are meh (some of the jumping/rolling ones). The bosses are great too, especially the last one and the widow, her design is cool :3. Some things that would be really cool! - Synergies between different elements or specific cards! I feel like synergies are a big aspect of rogue-like games, and help make each run more unique! - Parrying, dude has a shield but doesn't use it :(. Balance it how you like, whether it just prevents damage or stuns, etc. - More weapons, or weapons that have unique properties to them! Maybe the magic staff buffs attacks from the buddy or the staff uses those attacks? The hammer maybe stuns enemies briefly or more knockback, things like that! - More to do after beating the game besides getting a faster time, maybe a hardcore mode or instead of only being able to unlock cards, lock the weapons aswell and have the player do challenges to unlock them, same with card slots too maybe? - Different endings, maybe you join the deevil in his quest for world domination for some reason! - If not parrying, blocking a hit or 2 before the shield breaks would be cool. Maybe shield bashing and different shields? Thats all :3. A fun game! Buy it now now now now.
A satisfying challenge built on fun mechanics!
Very cute, very humble. Short but fun. Really like the adventure hoard idea and the power ups are great.
Amazing game! Fun game where you need to save the bees! Great simple game play with a lot of very creative twists and mechanics that make the game super interesting
