The Last Crown: Midnight Horror

This is a great game! An honnorable sequel so far of "The lost crown" game. Can't wait for more :D

A charming if rough around the edges point-and-click game. Graphics and characters models are fairly basic, but occasional splashes of color add to the appealing and unique art-style. While puzzles are fairly basic, they're also intuitive, so I never wasted time trying to find that one cryptic answer the developers expected. The main premise is executed fairly good, with the protagonist using the real-life equipment for hunting ghosts instead of some fantastical items. Overall, the game has a nice atmosphere, humor and fun enough gameplay. Made me interested in checking out the original game simply titled "The Lost Crown". 6/10.

Really enjoyed this game. There are a few scares, the puzzles/mini-games are great fun. The story is good and interesting. Only problem is I just wanted it to be longer!! Great game :D

The Last Crown: Midnight Horror is not up to the quality of the previous games. Though I still like the characters, the mood, and the way the game is colored, it is much cruder in attitude; and though the overall story is OK, I found making progress through the story to be difficult. It was often the case that I had to do something I didn't expect in order to trigger the next thing to do. I ended up using a walkthrough to help me complete the game. If you don't play this one, you're not missing anything.

+ It's wonderful to be back in Saxton! + Genuinely unsettling atmosphere + Tons of hotspots with lots flavour and detail + Weird but endearing characters + Ghost hunting mechanics are well designed + Scary + Good length for price - A little buggy (make sure you save often!) - A little cheesier than I would have hoped at times - Fart cat (A plus if you enjoy gassy cats) If you're a fan of The Last Crown then this is a must buy. If you haven't played the Last Crown then go and play that first!

In this universe you get to play as an older, didn't make it on youtube so he started ghost hunting, jackscepticeye. 10/10 would not play for two years and then play again then realize how much you wasted your life.

I need help! I think there is a bug in the beginning of the game. No menu choice comes up when I greet the Trick or Treaters and the game freezes. leah919

This game is just too small to be considered stand-alone game. (4.3 hours completed) Apart from that, you might enjoy it if you played other games of the series.

Very short but a good bit of fun while waiting for the Last Crown Blackenrock. I really enjoyed the Lost Crown, loved the characters, puzzles and atmosphere so it was great to return to Saxton for more.

This series has the weirdest name progression. The first one is called The Lost Crown: A Ghosthunting Adventure. Then this one is called The Last Crown. But it's not the last. Midnight Horror isn't exactly a full-length game. It really should more properly be called a DLC, I guess? It's really just a short interlude between The Lost Crown and The Last Crown: Blackenrock. Because we're too damn impatient so they threw this at us to keep us happy while we wait for Blackenrock and Silent Night. I'm not sure what I think about it. It took me a little bit to get into the groove of it. The atmosphere is totally different than the first game. It keeps the same black and white aesthetic but I kind of feel like full colour would have set this game apart from the more serious-toned ones. Because this game is quite a bit goofier than the first game. It's a fun, light-hearted adventure with a little mystery, a little (semi) legal drug sales and a little farting cat. I'm not even joking. The plot is okay but the animation for the walk cycles is even weirder than the first game. The voice-work could be a little better, as well. It is all the same actors but their hearts don't seem to be in it. The interactions between Lucy and Nigel just don't have the same spark. As far as progression goes, it's very obscure on what you're supposed to be doing. Even more so than the first game. There were some very cool new features to the ghost-hunting aspect that we didn't get to play with nearly enough. I hope they'll be making an appearance in Blackenrock (if Blackenrock ever makes an appearance, that is). I didn't have any troubles with crashing as some people did so maybe that has been fixed. The dance interactions were a little wonky but worked well enough. I can't say that it's horrible but it's not great, either. Of course I will still play the other one-off, Silent Night and the long awaited The Last Crown: Blackenrock. I just hope the gang is a bit more turned out.
