About
Ah, my glorious kingdom! A land where peasants toil, miners dig, and knights train... but only when I look at them! My gaze is law—progress thrives where I watch, but the moment I turn away? Laziness! Chaos! I must choose wisely: should I focus on the fields for food, the mines for riches, or the barracks for defense? With resources, I can even expand my all-seeing gaze, ensuring my kingdom flourishes… and that no one slacks off under my rule!
Water, wheat, stone, coal, silver—every resource fuels my empire! Farms feed my people, mines fund my ambitions, and workshops forge mighty defenses. Shall I invest in archers, reinforce the walls, or harness magic? Even my castle needs repairs when the enemy strikes! Every decision shapes my reign, and only a well-managed kingdom will survive the storm.
Rulership is no easy task! Each land presents new trials, from cursed cemeteries to infernal depths, forcing me to adapt. Yet every defeat is a lesson! As a true roguelite, my efforts grant permanent upgrades, unlocking new abilities, stronger defenses, and powerful strategies for my next reign. A true king doesn’t just rule—he evolves, forging an unstoppable legacy with each attempt!
Each battlefield hides unpredictable threats—enemies are led by unexpected Generals, demanding unique tactics to defeat. Want to conquer them all? You’ll need multiple runs! But fear not! My royal council aids me with cavalry masters, arcane sages, and cunning strategists. With their wisdom—and my unwavering gaze—victory is inevitable!

Fun game, but likes to randomly crash...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Cool game with good updates

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game. It does so many things right. The core mechanic might seem gimmicky at first, but it's truly addictive and just feels really right. You have your gaze to watch over which buildings work, and the rest of the peasants on other tiles are lazy.... so you have to figure out which of your kingdom tiles require your attention the most. But you upgrade it and get better at watching, and it just feels so satisfying. The King is Watching really does hit a lot of different high points of interest for fans of different genres, and brings it together in a pretty weird but oddly satisfying package. If you like roguelites, the progression is deep, meaningful, and gives player's a lot of agency with how they plan their short term and long term goals (singular runs, but future runs and unlocks too). There's heaps of replayability and variety, and the RNG feels just right. Not too punishing, and plenty of mechanics built in to play around with the RNG. The strategy aspect seems kind of simple if you put it up like a full fledged RTS or TBS maybe.... but there's just so much variety that it kind of feels different instead of simpler. You acquire your units, and from there it's auto-battle style combat, basically, with spells and other mechanics to interact with.... but there's so much variety in units and resources to manage, that it feels like your focus if shifted. Yeah, you're not directly controlling combat, but you're fully controlling the setup and planning, and the in-run upgrades and decisions feel so meaningful and rewarding. And I really can't stress enough how good the game variety feels. You have of course lots of different units, but you also have different style of kings (and Queens now too, with Cleopatra!), and lots of meaningful upgrades both in-run and through meta-progression. This game has lots of legs, it's gonna keep running on your PC for a while before it gets tired. The developers are incredible. I mean that. They're some of the most thoughtful I've seen in some time when it comes to meaningful updates and QOL and balance changes. And they're pumping out new free content that really feels like it adds a lot of variety and depth to the game. It was an easy day-1 buy for getting the DLC. I could say the old stand-by, oh well I want to support the devs for making a great game. And that's true, but also.... ♥♥♥♥ was I excited about the actual DLC itself. It's so good, and it's insanely fairly priced, just like the main game. Oh, and this could probably go into why the developers are amazing but.... MEMES. They implemented memes into the game, and you'd think it's corny, and you'd be right.... but it's not shallow. They adapted popular memes into literal game lore and it's kind of weird how well it works. Best use of memes in game I've seen yet. Which I guess is a weird sentence. But yeah, give this game a shot. It's going to keep you up late, in a good way.
Fun. Full stop.
