A puzzle game about running, not because one has somewhere to be, but because one has somewhere they don't want to be. Different doors are blocking the way, that need to be unlocked to proceed. Each door will give a different benefit, and a combination of them is the key to succeed .. or fail.

Let me start by saying that this game could have potential and i was really curious to try it intrigued by the trailer, unfortunately only later i realized the whole game is right to that trailer. I'm a lover of endless games, roguelike, dungeon crawler and any game that has puzzle elements, but this "The king is gone" reaches monotony very quickly. Gameplay is very limited and flat, you can't move or interact with anything around you, you can simply watch around while the character walks automatically for a short distance before arriving to a room where you must choose which door to open, so the only input available is the left click mouse. The purpose of the game is to advance from room to room, unlocking and crossing the doors, so far nothing strange, indeed, I like challenge and solve "puzzles" but this is main problem here, puzzles monotony, and even if you have a limited time to unlock the doors, this is not enough to make it enjoyable. So the whole game can be summarized by simply rotating key pieces and then rebuild it, as you advance there are only more 'parts to rotate, and nothing else. As you go along you can choose which door to open, open a particular door offer you a unique benefit, like increase walking speed that is quite useless, Increase lock-picking skills who do nothing special and lastest, perhaps the most 'useful, an additional attempt in case you make a mistake when try to rotate the pieces key. Another issue concerns smoothing experience, my impression was like playing in slow motion, plus seems there is a slight input lag. I can not even appreciate the graphics department as it is really poor. I am a fanatic fan of old-style, 2D or even pixellated games, but here we are dealing with drawings that look like created with paint and then rendered in 3D, without adding any detail. In the end, soundtrack that accompanies us throughout the game is not catchy, rather i found it annoying that I had to mute it. Well there is a positive note: it can be muted since begin from main title, since there are no more options except windorew-fullscreen mode. I don't feel like recommending this game even for curiosity, because it has a high cost for what it offers and for a few cents I've seen titles with more content
For more puzzle game reviews, news and everything puzzle-related, follow Puzzle Lovers and check out our Steam group.
