IMPOSSIBLE -EricVanWilderman
As a kid back in the PSP days, when I first saw the game, I didn't buy it because the title said Impossible and I thought why buy when it's impossible XD. Jokes aside this is one of the most replay-able game. I've been playing it since PSP days and now on Steam PC. I've finished all the achievements for this game and here is my two dollar 99 cents on the game: Sound : Different sound tracks for different levels and practice mode. Easily some of the best music and it fits each of the levels well. Only thing I felt was, in practice mode it would be great if the level had the original music playing instead of the dedicated practice music. 9/10 Levels : This will be my order of the levels in terms of the most replay-able. 1. Level 4 Phazd. 2. Level 3 Heaven / Level 2 Chaos Fantasy 3. Level 1 Fire Aura and Original Level. Tips / Others : * It's incredible how well the background music helps you in timing the mouse clicks / jumps for levels. Try to focus on music beat while making decisions on jumps. * Holding the mouse instead of constant clicking can help in few cases and avoid fatigue. * Phazd : despite fast, I feel is one of the easiest level, simply follow the music and time the clicks. [10/10] * Heaven : I feel has the best music out of all the levels and also the toughest and it has a few phases. - 1st phase is the easiest one where the music lyrics are at Caution, Overdrive, Power, Overdrive, Power, Control Your... - 2nd Phase : Medium level + Destructive (the platform starts collapsing behind you once you jump on it). Right after hear "Control Your...", the level speed picks up and you are required to time the clicks better. - 3rd Phase : Hardest + Constructive + Final This is when screen switches back to blue. This is the toughest one because the level literally starts to render in real time in front of you. It feels like you can't plan ahead or time your jumps. Simply have to memorize the pattern by failing a few times. Towards the end it has a continuous stretch of 3 spikes something like this ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ if you can time this you are good and pretty much finish the level. - [10/10] * Chaos Fantasy : I would consider this to be similar to Heaven where you have phases. This is the best level in-terms of correlating music beat to jumps. - 1st phase is the easiest. Simply follow clicks and music. Towards the end you can literally feel music do 2 beats and you see 2 spikes. - 2nd Phase : easier than you think + Flipped. When I first approached this on PSP, I would pause the game here and hold my PSP upside down to feel easier XD. Later I realized holding mouse instead of clicking constantly makes most sense here. - 3rd Phase : easiest of all, more like a pause to catch your breath for what's up next. - 4th Phase : Flip Again + toughest of all phases The toughness comes from 2 tricky areas, one similar to heaven end where you have flurry of 3 spikes only reverse "vvv vvv vvv vvv vvv" The challenge is they are not evenly spaced out, so we can't blindly hold mouse here, actually have to time the jumps. Too early you crash, too late you still crash XD. The second tricky area is towards the end where your mind says jump but you are not supposed to. - 5th Phase : easy + simple clicks, don't be fatigued. - [10/10] * Fire Aura + Original level : I mean not much to say here. Both the levels combined have 3 or 4 jumps that are tricky. Nothing unusual here. Its mostly holding mouse and letting go off at few places. - [9/10] * One more thing about game getting sluggish, particularly evident when your attempts start to increase. On PC, for levels like Heaven and Chaos Fantasy this is more noticeable, once your attempts increase, the jumps to register despite pressing the button. I thought it was a placebo but the behavior is consistent. Simple fix is to restart once you cross say 20 or 30 attempts instead of continuing. The game sometimes also randomly crashes when attempts go even higher say 50+. I confirmed this by going frame by frame collecting mouse data, whether I clicked the button and did the jump happen. And yes, it doesn't some times :-( Looks like game's code might be leaking resources when attempts increase and not when you manually restart the level. Well Well WELL, let's not go into code and performance here. It performs well for majority of the folks and configurations. * Achievement for 500 attempts is too easy. Start a level, find a spike, put a practise flag right infront of it. You constantly crash into it and attempts go up. Usually with a well placed flag, 2 sec per attempt, should take around 1000 sec or ~17 mins. Just leave the thing and go for a snack break. Overall I would rate this game 9 / 10. For the price, the replay value is insane. Helps with focus and concentration unless you get addicted to it. Overall I would recommend this to anyone :-)
This is a game, and its quite difficult. I enjoyed this game quite a bit. I was kind of scarred with the gameplay on Heaven (Level 3) but otherwise all the other levels were fun to play. This game isn't all perfect as when i was practicing Level 3, It gave me the achievement that the game would give you if you beat Heaven without any flags even though I used flags during the level and I clicked exit when i reached the end. I did eventually beat the level though. There was also a few times where everything in the level disappeared and then the game crashed. But otherwise I had fun playing this game. 8/10
