About

The Headlands is a cozy farming strategy about a small Ukrainian village caught between two eras: Soviet machinery and an independent countryside on the verge of the 2000s. Ahead of you lies a run-down farm waiting for a new beginning.

Start small: an old tractor, a neglected field and limited resources. Step by step, work the land, sow the grain, bring in the harvest and gradually build a farm that runs on your decisions.
At the heart of the game are your own pace and balance. You decide which fields to work first, when to invest in new machinery and how to make the most of your time, fuel and grain. Market prices live a life of their own — and sometimes the price of grain shifts exactly when it is already in the truck bed. There are no timers pushing you and no sudden punishments — only thoughtful planning and steady, tangible progress.

Every tractor here is the one you saw in the fields as a child: the same engine, the same rattle, the same peeling paint. Maybe you even remember the moustachioed neighbour who once let you climb into the cab while he checked something under the hood — and you sat there alone like a cosmonaut in a spacecraft, studying every lever and every button.
Every machine in the game has its own character and story. And you won't be left alone with them: there is always a mechanic and mentor nearby who will advise you, and in his spare time will put together a machine that has no name in any catalogue.

Help your neighbours through contracts, unlock new opportunities and turn a small holding into a living, well-run farm.
Start small. Give the land time. And you'll see everything begin to grow.
🌾 Meditative strategy gameplay. Planning without rush and the freedom to choose your own pace.
🚜 Gradual farm growth. From a single tractor to a full holding with a large fleet and expanded buildings.
📦 A living market and resource balance. Time, fuel and harvest are all connected, and prices won't wait until you are ready.
🔧 Machines with character. Dozens of vehicles with a history — from the mechanic's homemade "masterpieces" to heavy combines.
🏭 Your own production — set up supply chains and sell finished goods for more than raw materials.
🤝 Contracts and village life. Help your neighbours and develop the region together.

this game is like farming sim but all the good and none of the bad. played the demo last night and was instantly hooked the graphics, game mechanics, the live selling and everything in between is great. for this being a early access game i have ran into 0 bugs or glitches or anything of the sorts and feels like a fully finished game not something still being actively updated. 10/10 must buy and play

I preface with it is early access this is constructive. It's got the vision, it's unique and beyond it being unplayable first 15 min after launch it runs mostly smoothly (can sometimes jitter or freeze frame on mission completion). Things that bug me: The game is 'resistive' In this game when you harvest the truck does not follow the combine and unload it as you go, it waits until it's full then empties it and if that does not fill the truck up, it will go back to it's idle spot and wait for the harvester to be full again even if it only has 100 out if its 2400 space left. Then it will go to the silo dump and come back and obviously a full harvester isnt moving. So naturally I looked out for a truck that was an even multiple of a harvester or the other way around, but there are none they're intentionally made that way. The game loans you a truck at the start of the game that you cannot return to the person who loaned it to you for a long af time and it always appears as the first option when trying to select a truck. In this game repairs are necessary as tools/vehicles wear out from use, fair i like it, it cost more to repair my seeder than to replace it early game... There is no button on your hud to specifically look at a drop down of all your vehicles conditions... You cannot automate repairs, you cannot set custom warnings at certain percentages because the repairs prices scale exponentially... In this game tractors can drive (slowly) to a field or your truck (fast) can transport them there. You cannot force your tractor to wait for a truck to become available (i.e queue the job which is something you cant do at all in the game atm) leaving you to physically manage every vehicle manually and every aspect by hand. A truck will sit on its ass for a good duration waiting for a harvester to be full and in that waiting time its considered as 'working' so unable to transport your tractor Game has no buyer protection for oopsie purchases, sell back starts at half end of story used or not Game has a stock market kinda system for selling that doesnt chart more than a handful of hours and you cant see any history to check price potential, you also cant auto sell so manual stock market managing Fuel in its current state feels like a chore because of the storage mechanic, it should just be an upfront cost to working on the field instead. Things that I like: Is good game makes brain go unga bunga farming equipment and has a fun loop and some interesting mechanics. Will play more farming tycoon in future give it a bash its not even 10 bucks
Love its a great relaxing game that isn't impossible to progress i think this developer is doing a great job
Cozy little farm sim, for an early access 10/10 compared to others
I was a child in NE Poland in the 80s/90s. My mom's family owned a farm and the nearby village had a PGR. This game induces quite a lot of nostalgia for me. NE Poland is pretty far from Ukraine but the Soviet influence and machinery of the times were similar enough. The game itself is fun. It's pacing is alright, if you're like me and you hate leaving fields idle it can get a little frantic trying to keep all of them growing. Rainy days make for good repair days, so I almost wish there were more... but you're not really punished in any way if you leave your fields ready to harvest and spend a sunny day fixing all the machines. Production chains are new I think... but they aren't worthwhile at this point. I think flour vs grain is like a 40% price boost but you can't do any meaningful quantities. So for now I'd let that mechanic evolve a bit. I feel like the combines take a weird path through the farm. Also some of the paths taken from a road to the field look a bit silly. I really would love for the upgrades to the farm modernize the buildings as opposed to just make them bigger. It should look like a dilapidated PGR that first gets cleaned up and refreshed then eventually modernized. Anyway, been a while since I was really looking forward to game updates in EA, and with this game I can't wait for more.
very satisfying, similar to 911 disbatch simulators and the freedom of lot management is really nice, i like that i'm not limited as long as i have the money to upgrade
lovely calm little game, love my machines roaming and working for me :)
speriamo nel aggiornamento ,,,,perche sono arrivato al gg210 e non ci sta molto da fare...espandere...lavori
