Do you remember the Scary Maze Game? I mean that viral short Flash game that was all about the one unexpected jumpscare in third level, that made many viral videos about people getting mad about it. Well, The Growth Journey is practically the same, minus the jumpscare, plus more levels and specific win conditions. The controls are really primitive - you click the right button and the circle follows your mouse cursor. Your target is getting as fast as you can, with the biggest circle possible, to the finish; while your circle mustn't touch any edge. There are two specific zones - the blue one, that makes your circle bigger, and the green one, that requires a specific size of the circle to let you pass through. That's all! Now it's your time to get into the 50 levels of frustrating challenge that will test your patience. I mean, it will test your patience in case you won't get bored after first few minutes, which is highly possible. The graphic design is really poor but let's say that the developers had intended minimalistic cheap style that looks up amateurish in the end, if I forget the only one nice effect of floating squares in the background. As I've already mentioned that you'll require patience, there's one more thing to strengthen this opinion - the soundtrack. And by the "soundtrack" I mean that literally - there's only one tune and it gets annoying fast.
Conclusion:
Overall this looks more like a polished student's project for the final exam of "Programming II" (or something similar) and as it's even not entertaining at all, I doubt I would recommend it to anybody even if it was for free. And for 5,99 €? Don't spend your money here, there's SO MANY better games on Steam that this would be a mistake. I feel like it's been a long time since I felt so negatively about a game. Even the previous Cleverweek games (Two Digits and Three Digits), that also got negative review by me, are still better and, at least somehow, entertaining. Disclaimer: My copy of The Growth Journey was obtained for free - I won the game in a giveaway that might have been sponsored by the developer. This fact hasn't changed my opinion about the game (and the review) in any way.
Don't play it.

"Glutton ball stuck in labrinth"
Ingenious puzzle-, time attack & skill game. You have to go through a labrinth of 50 spikey levels. Before you reach the goal (orange) or enter a green zone you have to feed your ball in feeding zones (blue) which causes a bigger diameter. Ofc it's getting harder when you are bigger. Sometimes the puzzles are quite challenging because you decide how much the ball eats from each feeding zone unless it doesn't fit through the entries anymore. Unfortunately the ball seems to get hit on walls and spike without even touching them. Another thing is the soapy movement of the ball because it just follows your mousepointer. You cannot control it directly. But altogether a really nice game.
很没意思的游戏···点击鼠标右键后小黑球就会跟着鼠标移动! 然后移动到黄色区域算过关!!真无聊!
还行吧。 Not Bad
Yeah, make a game with terrible controls and tight levels with a time based scoring system, that makes sense.
awful
Another game that should be deleted from steam store. All to do is not touching the walls. Well... even with not touching you will loose.
Fun indie game with a relaxing soundtrack. You irreversibly grow by collecting points and reaching the finish zone in 50 levels. The game does have a few minor glitches but it's worth checking out.
Complete ♥♥♥♥ I got this game 85% off, so I was like 'hey it's 60¢ why not get it?' Worst sixty cents I ever spent. The controls are fairly straight forward, but the walls extend like 5 pixels out so thesensing sucks. You can't even get close to the wall without losing. the soundtrack resets whenever you die, so you just here the same beat starting over consecutively. There aren't any instructions, so by the time you get to the third or fourth level you have no idea what all these symbols and markings mean. The only way to find out is to ram into them and then most likely die. Bottom line, don't buy it.
