The Good Life

When you sit there thinking "how many hours do I have to play to feel like I got my money's worth" you know you don't like a game. I looked at this game initially because it had a farming tag on it. The farming is crap. The game is designed to fade out while your character plants the seed. You don't water. You don't tend the plant. Just stumble by any time later and discover you can harvest. No satisfaction at all. I hate fetch quest games. This is a fetch quest game, and the character actually jokes about it over and over in the game. Thanks a lot! The movements/control feels clunky. The 45 thousand ways you have to monitor your character's health, thirst, hunger, stress, stamina drives your anxiety through the roof and chips away at the fun. I like how simple the camera is and taking pics in general. I like the idea of uploading the pics on the fake internet and getting hearts that earn you money, but it is all so nickel and dimed that it also drives you nuts. Someone said you could sell a diamond for good money. I had dollar signs in my eyes (finally a break from the penny grind) until I found out the amount it would sell for. An insult! I don't know if it's in the game somewhere and I missed it, but I don't see where I can click a button and see my debt and how much I've paid on it. I like the idea of working hard in a game and seeing that debt go down. But not the lame amounts of money versus work in this game! I can't possibly recommend this game, and I have to think hard whether I will try to play more to get my money's worth or write it off and find something else.

I played this completely a few years ago when it was on gamepass on my xbox one. 10/10 in cozy gaming. Love the adult humor that honestly just adds even more charm to the game. I felt like the map was much bigger than I anticipated it to be, so that was pretty neat. I bought this on steam so I can experience the magic all over again! I couldn't give this game a better review, and I can't wait to explore again!

Um jogo suave e bem tranquilo. A trama é bem feita e fluída e a atmosfera do jogo em si é bem aconchegante. Entretanto é um jogo que cansa bem rápido pois as missões são longas e não tem muita opção de movimento a nao ser caminhar, correr e se transformar, e muita das vezes é entendiante o fato de alguns objetivos demorarem muito para serem concluídos justamente pelo tamanho do mapa e o movimento do personagem. Um bom game para jogar quando estiver à toa.

Grind heavy disappointment of a game from Swery. It's much easier to recommend Deadly Premonition even if the PC port is a mess.

Annoying game that I can't help but love. Reminds me of my cat.

I think this is Swery at his best. It's just dumb jokes, a semi Animal Crossing debt simulator, and an absurd and hooking storyline. Super chill.

this game is not good, backed the kick starter and wish i didn't

I love the idea of a photography game, but the controls, language, terrible graphics, and boring environments here make this game terrible. The controls in particular are so wonky to start, it makes it hard to play. I kind of feel like the people who made this game designed it for people on drugs, because nothing really makes any sense in the story either.

Kickstarterのリワードでキー貰ってたけどSwitch版出ることになってそっち買って一通りやってた。2週目やりたくなってそういえばSteam版持ってたなって思い出してこっちに。 大していいスペックのPCじゃないけどSwitch版よりはずっと軽い。やっぱり雨の日は重くなるけどそれでもだいぶマシ。 個人的に主人公が喜怒哀楽はっきりしててよく悪態もつくし嫌な顔もするのが好き。新入りを遠慮なくパシってくる住民たちもわりと変人だらけで良い。 田舎の町が舞台で登場人物は家族だったり幼なじみだったりするので主人公とキャラよりキャラ同士の関係性が好きな人は好きだと思う。 先にメインストーリーだけガンガン進めても詰んだりしないけどやっぱりサブクエで交流しながらの方がおすすめ。進行不可になるやつとか一定期間だけできるやつもあるし(たぶん) 操作とか収集でわりと面倒なことはあるけど自分はキャラとかストーリーが好みかの方が大事なのでまあスルーできた。 アルミ缶はデッドブル買えるようになったし皮とか入手しにくいの困るなってくらい。動物倒す時のタイミング測るの苦手だからいっぱい倒すの大変。

First played on Xbox Gamepass.. love it. Can't get enough. I wish they'd make a sequel.
