Really good!
Dies Marmotae Romae The Forgotten City is a very good game, especially considering it was created by such a small team. I had played the precursor when it was a mod for Skyrim a while back. The full game is of course more sophisticated. The story is great (a bit of spoilers here), but at times a little predictable, no real twists there. The setting is refreshing with culturally diverse cast (in the sense that the roman empire was a cultural amalgamation). What I found a bit disappointing that, if I understood the story correctly, it should also have been possible for the cast to be far more temporally diverse. Most characters seem to have entered the city in the year 64 AD or before. It could have been possible to have more recent characters, for example someone from the 19th century with knowledge of the industrial revolution. This could have made for interesting conversations. But that’s just nitpicking on my side. The gameplay loop is very rewarding, especially when you can start to take advantage of previous knowledge. Feels a lot like speedrunning, which of course you can also easily do (ending 1 of 4 took me 5 minutes to reach). So, there are a total of four endings of which ending 4 is the one where you'll learn the most about the world. Endings 2 and 3 are somewhere in between 1 and 4 in sense of accomplishment and time invested. Obviously the first playthrough usually takes the longest, as you'll have to learn the ropes (it took me 8 hours to finish). Technically the game runs very smoothly, and I only witnessed very minor issues with delayed texture loading (might be a hardware problem on my part) and one instance of Sentius temporarily getting stuck on a fury right before reaching Proserpina’s temple which was a bit worrying. All that said, you should give this game a try if you like story driven video games at all. Honor Creatori

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

重置过后其实没有多少老滚的感觉了,除了这个僵硬的手感以外(笑死)
Story (1/5)
A story created by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I will now swiftly spoil the whole story for you so that you don't have to waste your time. Karen (Charon) drops you off in front of the entrance to a city of modern day Rome. No, not Ancient Rome like the Steam description says, but the modern, gayer, fake version of Ancient Rome. The type you could see being described on r/History. Anyway, you find out that there is a Golden Rule in this place and that no one can leave. The Golden Rule is that if one person commits a crime, everyone turns to gold. You have the ability to time travel, so you try to figure out a way to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from committing crimes and get everyone out of this California. Skip the boring ass 7 hours of doing fetch quests and going back and forth to solve every minor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inconvenience for everyone with a pulse, and you finally uncover the truth behind this entire system and place. Aliens. That's right. Aliens made a wager over whether humanity can go without sin for a year in this hellhole. So they tossed around a thousand silver coins onto Earth, and whoever possessed one at the moment of death would get transported into this experiment chamber known as *The Forgotten City*. This ♥♥♥♥ clearly doesn't work, so you and another ♥♥♥♥♥ named Al are the last two coin holders. If you both ♥♥♥♥ up, humanity is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Oh, and Al killed himself at the start of the game, so now it's up to you to persuade this alien that he is wrong. I persuade him by threatening to kill his wife using the power of his wife (time travel), and instead of frying my soul to dust right then and there, he decides to let all of us go back to Earth. Like, I don't know how Pluto is this retarded. You have the technology to pull souls out of people into a fake afterlife. Surely you can zap my ass right then and there before I run a kilometer back to the starting point of the fast travel. So the basic message of the game is that God is a retarded alien and that there is no such thing as a single true moral system. Wonderful. This "game" is clearly made by people who think they have the whole world figured out and are very proud of themselves, and definitely not by retarded atheists. Now imma drop a truth nuke on every atheist reading this. You are an atheist because you have done wrong in your life. You have, in fact, sinned, and instead of repenting and asking for forgiveness, you have decided to double down and make up ♥♥♥♥ about morality and sin not existing. This doubling down is rewarded with the praise of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Reddit, Discord, X, etc. However, this is all cope, because eventually you will pass on, but not into Heaven. You will go to Hell. What type of Hell is dependent on the religion your parents practiced and tried to pass on to you. But since you have a gigantic ego and think you are right all the time, you have decided to forsake not only your parents but your future kin and community. You are like Saint Peter, except you have forsaken your God at every opportunity you had, without thinking twice about it. The eternal reward for that retarded behavior is simply Hell. So no amount of coping and validation whoring online will help you. Your fate is already sealed. I can only hope that your future kin won't join you in your eternal suffering. Anyway, my main problem with the story is that it's lame and gay. It takes a good premise, smashes it over the head with r/atheism, r/history, and every other morally wrong idea while trying to present them as correct. In this mortal world, you have committed one true wrong that every normal adult across the world, from every religion, can agree on. You wasted the time and money of everyone who tried to give your game a chance.
Gameplay (1/5)
If you watch the game on YouTube, you've basically played the game. But don't even watch it, because there is nothing worthwhile to see. There are no major choices until the end, and even those choices are retarded. It is simply not a game, but the sad cries of someone who is to be damned. Very sad to see.
Difficulty (1/5)
Walking sim.
Game Time (1/5)
Wasted.
Graphics (1/5)
Historically accurate California, not Rome.
Music and Sound Design (1/5)
Why do they talk like that? Ah, that's right. Californians are inhuman.
Performance (2/5)
Laggy-ass game.
Price (1/5)
24,99€? If you give even 1€ to this game, then you are willingly paying someone to waste the next 6-10 hours of your life. Just get a friend to keep choking you out if you want to waste that time.
Final Verdict (1/5)
Atheist made ♥♥♥♥. Not even a game, just ♥♥♥♥. As are all things that self proclaimed atheists make. Very sad behavior, and I pray that they improve in every aspect of their lives.
Absolutely wonderful experience
énormz banger
If you're looking for a semi RPG game that isn't long and is intriguing, buy this. You're choices matter for the most of the time but don't think too much about it. It was fun and the story was nice. Combat is minimal but you can skip it if you want I think. 10/10
Настоящий нелинейный сюжет в купе с нетипичными механиками временной петли на пару вечеров делают игру захватывающим приключением...
Absolut geile Story :)
