About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Reviews
It's janky, it's clanky and almost nothing is explained. But despite all that, it's still extremely atmospheric, immersive and fun. (I still recommend watching a guide on youtube.) If you like grimdark, hopeless settings and aesthetics, you will absolutely love this.
Generally, the reviews on this game are correct: The Forever Winter is a beautiful work of art, but with enemy AI issues and mediocre third person shooting. That said, I'm not going to throw out the baby with the bathwater. This game is a very specific flavor of fascinating, and if it looks cool to you based on what it sounds and looks like from videos and screenshots, please give it a shot. I don't regret it, and you might not either. The Forever Winter offers an overall experience through both art and gameplay that I haven't been able to find in another game, and for that, I recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in what it appears to offer. Apocalyptic, war-torn hellscapes. Unfathomably vast superstructures. Picking through scraps of a bygone era to eke out an existence. Maybe it's not a perfect video game, but it nails a vibe that compels me to keep spending time with it.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Atmospheric and intense. you can rat out or, once you're better geared and upgraded, rambo out. You'll still get your ♥♥♥♥ rocked on occasion but you're not playing extraction shooters because you hate consequences.
I'll start off by saying the games soundtrack is well composed, the art style, atmosphere and tension it's all there, i can definitely see the potential, my only concerns were for one i died pretty much at the start of my first raid due to clipping in the tunnel A elevator...which was unfortunate, enemy pop in was a bit jarring at times plus the fact sometimes you couldn't even stealth properly due to the ai aimlessly losing their pathing and just looping your location, and it would be a pain to either forcibly stealth past them or engage in combat, which don't get me wrong the shooting feels smooth but forcing my hand into either combat or tedious stealth because the ai doesn't know where it wants to go not so much. overall i think this will improve with time and it definitely has the potential to be a masterpiece Imo.
Just started and im loving it! The lore, world, NPC wars and sound design are exactly what I wanted
Its pretty dope if you like this type of game. I just got it after the update and I'm hooked. Darker Arc Raiders buy solo. Play as the underdog is always cool. One thing, the game is tough AF........ Souls like extraction shooter., hahaha
