A beautiful, 3rd-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son reconnecting with his estranged father in Alaska. Uncover artifacts from the son's life as he becomes intertwined in the fox’s journey towards The First Tree.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really wanted to like this game. The visuals and score are polished and stunning, the voice acting is good...but the writing is just okay. The game's poignant message and vivid, heartfelt memories of what it was like to grow up in rural Alaska just can't make up for its clunky execution and awkward dialogue, which feels more akin to being read a novel than listening to an actual conversation (this may be great for some people, but I did not enjoy it). We were teased and denied with getting to hear more from Rachel; at one point she asks, "Have I ever told you what my mom was like?" and I expected some elaboration, but never got any. I also did not enjoy the "fox half" of the plot. The ending made no sense, and it seemed entirely unrelated to the story presented to us by Joseph and Rachel. I also don't think the information about this game on the store page does a very good job of preparing you for the fact that this game is almost entirely about grief...after all,
Joseph's dad is dead and all three of the fox's cubs die too
. You have to be ready for a game with that kind of heaviness, and I really wasn't. Gameplaywise, I wasn't expecting much from a walking sim, and I actually really enjoyed the brief platforming challenges as a welcome break from just walking forward. I did wish for a manual save system, though, and I thought even the running speed was far too slow given how huge and expansive the environments were (not a bad thing, they're gorgeous, but still). I hate to give it a thumbs down because it was obviously made from a very personal place and with a lot of love, but I'm very glad I got it on sale. If you're ready for a game about grief and don't mind slow movement speed through a beautiful environment, you might really enjoy it! But it's definitely not for everyone.

Kind of an average game, but one with a very emotional story. The game bills itself as two parallel stories, that of a fox trying to find her babies and a man talking to his wife, sharing stories about his relationship with his father, though the former is a dream the man had, and the latter is him finding parallels and symbolism in the fox dream and applying it to his own childhood memories. The end result works, but it's a little clumsy in its execution. The gameplay, is not very deep, and in some ways is detrimental to the story. You play as a fox exploring large, open environments, as the narrator describes her actions and what she finds as the dream he had. As you explore you'll find strange, out of place locations and structures from the narrator's childhood, and examining them will prompt him to remember something about his past. For example, finding wooden toys will cause him to remember his father handcarving things for him and how much he loved them, until the other kids teased him and accused him of being too poor to afford proper toys. The environments themselves are very pretty, and exploring them is fun and the stories are interesting enough that you'll want to seek them out. Unfortunately there's a collectible aspect to the game, with each area having a certain number of stars to find, and you'll find yourself spending delaying the story to find all of them, particularly since there's no backtracking and it's very easy to wander too close to a certain location, unaware that it leads to the next area, and then find yourself being automatically to the next area without any way to return to the previous one and find the last couple of stars. Accidentally walking too close to a path and then being forced to the next area is basically a rite of passage for this game. The first area is particularly frustrating, since it's a beautiful location with lots of white, sparkling snow, and the stars are white, sparkling objects that will blend in perfectly. The game's endings (plural, based on your actions) are also awkwardly implemented. They're both too weighed to the different stories and instead of tying things together and giving both a sense of closure you're going to have to choose which one is resolved, and I would argue that one of the endings is much more satisfying and does a closer job of resolving things, especially because light spoilers one of the endings is chosen by ignoring something that everything up to this point in the story is telling you that you should be doing. It's counterintuitive to a fault. Having said that, the story has a lot of emotional weight and very much worth hearing. The voice acting is amateur in the best way possible, making it actually feel authentic and not just acting. The stories you hear feel real and fill you with a sense of nostalgia and empathy. The story is inspired by the writer, developer, and narrator's own experiences with loss and birth, and you feel that weight with every word. The fox's story isn't quite as deep, but an animal lover will certainly feel the emotional beats and that alone will make this game unsuitable for a lot of people. If the sight of the fox finding the lifeless body of her child in the trailer gave you pause, you should probably consider skipping this one because the stories will put you through an emotional wringer. All said, it's a fun enough game provided you don't mind the stress/distraction that comes from trying to do the achievements, or at least don't mind them enough to not let things detract from the story. The game itself is clunky, but the story shines and is worth hearing. Just make sure you have a few moments afterwards to sit in the dark and compose yourself after.
Two married couple, woke up by dream in middle of night and talk, I am just running fox. That's my experience. Music got me going. I give thumb up for that and that only. The whole story was not very interesting to begun with (My deepest aplogies if it's relatable to anyone in real life or the creator himself). I found it very boring as same old, same regret stuffs going on. Game play experience is just very minimalize collectaton, with vast empty space. I know it was made by one person but come on, it's just very stretched exploration for no reason. It's ok to play games like this once in a while, but I will never visit again. I loved the passion of the creator and bought it for full price. The stories could be told in fable as we play as fox. Overall experience not very pleasant. The music got me going. One time experience.

FAMILY: Father And Mother I Love You!
