About

One day you find yourself stepping into a brand new world with a starkly different sky and a language you've never encountered. While lost and confused, salvation comes from a cute young girl who offers a helping hand and a small smattering of familiar words. As feelings blossom, the struggle to communicate remains real. Yet learning to express yourself could hardly bring sweeter rewards.

You and the protagonist, Rin, will learn the new world's language together. As you both learn Juliamo (which in the real world is Esperanto, an existing constructed language) you'll be able to grow closer to Ruka, and by the time the romance reaches its conclusion, you'll be familiar with a a new, real-world language yourself!
All localized versions of the game are included with purchase for enthusiastic linguists looking to learn more languages!

The text in this game has been officially supervised by the National Esperanto Association in Japan, ensuring its accuracy and viability as a real educational tool.

Quizzes to test your understanding will have to be passed to progress the story, and they become available from the main menu along with every lesson introduced for those seeking to review the material further.
An option to skip the quizzes is available for those seeking a story-only experience.

Enjoy one of the rare few tales that tackles the struggles of overcoming a language barrier head-on, and shows how important communication, expression, and connection really are.

Ignore my playtime. I read this on my Android tablet using GameHub Lite. This is a story about a Japanese girl named Rin who gets isekai’d into a world with a pink sky and no night time. In this world, people only speak Esperanto (a language I had no clue existed up until now, but it seems to have a cool community around it). It’s renamed to “Juliamo” in-game and there are other little changes, but the language is mostly still the same. She (Rin) has to learn the language in order to survive in this new world. She meets Ruka, a girl that helps her out, and Rei, a teacher that further provides help. These are the three major characters throughout the story, and while it’s a small cast, I didn’t mind it. It feels wholesome and chill to read through. One of my complaints is how conveniently Rin’s main problem is solved. Ruka and Rei both understand Japanese to varying degrees which is a bit too convenient for me. Another one is Rin’s character, she can be overly negative and pessimistic throughout the game. It’s not too bad though, but I found myself going like, “Ugh! Stop being such a pessimist!” more than once. The game attempts to teach you Juliamo (Esperanto) through quizzes and what I like to call… printout hell. You’ll be right along side Rin with her studies. At first it’s fine, teaching you words here and there. I’ve been an English teacher for almost 7 years now, so I can say the beginning of these lessons feel fine. Eventually the game throws prefixes, suffixes, conjunctions, question words, and all sorts grammar all at once and it completely lost me. That’s not how you teach a language. It needs to be a slow process with lots of repetition or you’ll forget things or get overwhelmed (like I was). At this point, I turned off the quizzes and just focused on the story. I ended up getting two endings, what seemed like a normal ending and a good ending. I’m decently satisfied with how the story wrapped up. I think this was a good read, but the Esperanto lessons are quite rough. I suggest turning those off. As an aside, I don’t know why they went with Esperanto, personally. Wouldn’t it be better to learn one of the top languages instead? Like Chinese, Spanish or French or something? That would be useful to learn. I’ll definitely read the sequel, but I’ll skip the third game because I have no desire for an Esperanto teaching game. Maybe that’s why that one wasn’t come out yet.
I never had an interest in Esperanto prior to playing this game (though I knew it existed), so the mechanic of learning languages was one I enjoyed. That being said, that enjoyment tapered off as the story took over the driver's seat, and I found the language aspect to be an unnecessary chore once I was able to glean what was being said in some later dialogue choices. It's certainly a VN I'd label as "extremely alright"; the story is pretty nice, but there's definitely some aspects of the characters that made me feel a little uncomfortable at times (and some aspects of their dialogue choices that feel forced). Thankfully, the game lets you mitigate this (at the expense of parts of the story). Overall a cute little story and a mechanism for learning a new language, but I'd hesitate to call it my favorite.
