Walking around and desperatly looking for the Prob that progresses the Story really killes the mood.
It feels like narrative games have hit a wall with this one. While it feels like an intensely personal experience, The End of You falls into the typical cliches of walking simulators. The atmosphere is fantastic and melancholic, but the storytelling walks into predictable places that its hard to feel compelled at any point. The game competently tells its story of grief and loss over 30 minutes without any interesting risks taken. The best part of the game is the atmosphere, its heavily oppressive and feels like an outright horror game sometimes. The mood is great, but the story falters in the face of it. There could have been something special here. The End of You is video game venting packaged in the expected confines of the walking simulator genre. It's an interesting project from Memory of God, but it could have gone deeper. Regardless, I will still recommend the game since it gets heavy discounts and the atmosphere alone makes the experience worth it. 6/10.

A mi modo de ver, "The End Of You" transmite esas cargas de manera muy eficiente y conmovedora, desmoralizante mejor dicho.
gut-wrenching...
4/10 The overall story and how they present it is good. I just had a hard time figuring out how to progress the game. (An option to list objectives or hints would have been helpful.) Basically you, the husband, interact with a specific item that was owned by your wife to trigger a memory. Once you interact the apartment gets dark, so dark I really had a hard time finding where to go to 'talk' to her. (I didn't see a option to increase the brightness) I kept wandering around unable to select anything that eventually I would just quit because I thought I was stuck. I also didn't realize I needed to place Emily's items into the box in the living room, and once I realized it I couldn't find where I left the item. Maybe I just missed the instructions but I never saw a explanation how to play the game. Even though it's a simple game I didn't have a good first impression after struggling for a solid 30 minutes. Every so often the mouse would stop working, but it's easy to fix if you hit ESC to open the menu screen and then hit RESUME. Sometimes the cassette player wouldn't play the cassette I inserted and I'm not sure if there is a video with the VHS but I couldn't get it to play. I recommend to buy on sale.
best thing about this game is that you barely notice the pixelation through the tears
A true definition of an indie game. Something from the heart made into something inspirational and artful. The atmosphere was chilling yet calming, the audio added to the tone, and apartment was small enough yet complex enough to enjoy. These are the games that are worth your time
