The Elementalist Typing

This is a typing practice tool with a game skin. Suitable for children and all ages. The mechanics are simple: type the letters, words or sentences that appear on screen with speed and accuracy. Practice scales from basic triple letters "aaa" up through various longer words and sentences as progress to improve your typing skills. Difficulty setting lets you choose how long the timer is to await your accurate input. The "game" side is set up as a mock-combat-RPG where you face off against opponents in a side scrolling adventure and each word casts a spell for damage. Enough spells before the time limit and you win the fight, rinse and repeat ad nauseum. A mild tactical layer requires you change elemental types (earth, air, fire, water) to improve the damage done by your typing skills against various enemy types and you buy upgrades: bonus spells you can cast occasionally by spelling out specific words instead of the random challenge words. I don't know how much of an audience there is for typing practice on Steam, but it's functional and cheap and harkens back to games from the 1990's that wanted to be used by teachers to get children more interested in their education. If there's any parents actually monitoring what their kids play, this might end up on their list as allowed. Don't worry, you don't have to be a kid to play this game. I was allowed to play it. So I am giving you permission as well. Now as to whether you qualify for this or not... Yes. Yes you do. If you like to type or just want to practice typing whilst hurling spells at enemies? This games gotcha. They also got upgrades/Room decor for you to splurge your money on. Even if you are a speed typer and can average over 100wpm? Boy, do they have a freaking Mode for you. I tried it and... Apparently "strategy skills" are required as well. Which means my typing speed was jack null n void, once you got ahead that is. Ah well. Oh and there are A LOT OF LEVELS. Which obviously get gradually harder. As in... You will start to do sentences, while juggling enemy elemental weaknesses and switching things on the go. But okay. You can make the game WAY EASIER + HAVE NO ENEMIES + HAVE NO WEAKNESSES. But WHO WANTS THAT?! That's freaking boring!!! Ah and... You can't beat this game in one sitting. Not even if you are a genius mastermind. Well... Maybe you can then, but... Your fingers will cramp up from the intensity of it all. That or you will be zoned out too hard. But now we are off topic, you can get the gist of this game. It has a little bit of stuffs for everyone. It might be simple and yet... It will remind you of your place... Especially if you have "expert" typing skills. Pfft. >.> :>

Very charming little typing game with a sense of humor to boot. Big fan of the way different enemies are approached in different ways (even outside of the elemental types). Makes for a varied challenge in what you might expect to be plain gameplay. Also the slug is super cute.
