Pretty much what is says on the box. It's a fun little idle game that you can finish in a single day with very little effort. I've spent worse on a coffee honestly. I feel there should be something special though when the logo hits that corner bounce in just the right way though... you know the bounce that I mean.
I've played dozens upon dozens of incremental games, but this is a first for me. I'm used to grinding, to bad upgrades, to baffling mechanics, but right now as I type this review I have unlocked every upgrade, gotten all the prestige bonuses, yet I am still hours from 100%ing the game. For some completely bizarre reason, after a couple hours of normal progression, the game just decides that you should now afk for hours just to get the final purchase. Nothing else to do but wait. That blatant disrespect for the player's time is what made me give this a thumbs down.
Most of these 20 hours were because I was mistaken about which currency was required for the final unlock (I was using the monochromatic color scheme). There isn't much depth to the game and is rather short. I would only reccomend it if you want a cheap 100% or you just want bouncing DvDs on your screen.
----Please note that I helped develop this game a little and I'm good friends with the developer so this review might be a little tiny bit biased.---- This game is a cinematic masterpiece elevated to even more by it's groundbreaking and innovative gameplay. This game moves boundaries. It's engaging game mechanics and subtle storytelling is simply sublime. And the ending left me crying and bouncing and dvding all over my screen. 10/10 On a serious note, the game is fine. If you've ever played an idler before, you know what to expect. That being a lot of clicking, waiting and leaving it on in the background. Solid dopamine giver. If you have an afternoon to spare, there are worse ways to spend 3 bucks. There are a couple bugs here and there, but I'm sure they'll get ironed out soon.. Not even being given a key by the dev / 10.
Game is okay, but I don't think I can recommend it over other idler games. Once you get to CDs and max them out (which is itself a big change in pace from pretty steady progression to waiting for a timer to tick down) it just becomes a long waiting game to get the last few achievements.
This game is alright lol, it is a very simple game that takes the DVD logo bounce to an extreme, and the idle part is kind of fun for an hour or two. I played it on the steam deck and it does not continue when you exit the game, so it is more or less made for the computer to just be left on to get the last rewards (edit, you can just leave it on in desktop mode while doing other things lol). But for $3 it isn't bad at all, I think the price is well balanced for a kind of meme game with a bit of fun. Another thing to note for any achievement hunters out there, the achievement for getting your first 31 achievements only activates once you get the first 31 in list order, not any 31 achievements, so if you are wondering why you were not getting that one like I did, just keep finishing it up and you will eventually get it. I got it after finishing the prestige achievements. I hope that makes sense.
An Idler that runs out of steam quickly
DO, I recommend this game? YES Why? Besides bouncing DVD memes? Because you should know exactly what you're getting and you get it. It's dumb game worth a few bucks or cents. I like how it starts off simple and they kept finding new ways to change things up. What I didn't like is the Diamond menu basically not effecting much at a certain point AND getting stuck with all the extra diamonds that don't really have a use or benefit. I also didn't like that it stops being about bouncing the DVD very quickly. You just increase the sheer amount of them and their speed to the point where it no longer matters to look at them. I would've like to see the dev do some more interesting things here. Like instead of just "Adding crit" give a Corner Bounce effect. That was the whole reason anyone even watched the DVD logo move around. It was to see if and when, it would hit perfectly into the corner. Then maybe we could have stupid things like pinball flippers or bouncers. I dunno, I just think more unlocks and more things about bouncing and more unique things to make Prestige less boring. It's sort of worthless very quickly besides the few diamond unlocks and achievements. I also would've liked to see they go fully off the rails with it. Give us different stages with shapes or more virus types to interact with. Overall, it's a good time waster but half way in, it sort of leaves you wanting more and feeling like some of the later systems just didn't have much juice.
It was alright i suppose.
Decent clicker, but shorter than I expected.
it is good
