"The Disappearing of Gensokyo" is a Touhou Project doujin game from MyACG Studio, a Chinese doujin game fan circle. We have re-imagined Touhou as an ARPG, creating this "Danmaku-Shooting-ARPG". We hope this game will be a good experience for those who are both new and knowledgeable of Touhou!

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Combat is super bland and lacks feedback like hitstun and invincibility frames. The most interesting characters/movesets are locked behind a paywall (yet featured in promo videos). Even for it's lower price of $11 I just can't recommend it even on sale. You might like this if you enjoy the characters but the writing is poorly translated and lacks any satisfying presentation.
THE GAME IS GOOD BUT, YOU RUINED HIM WITH THIS STUPID HATA NO KOKORO PART LIKE EVER PEOPLE RUINING EVERYTHING ONE TIME MORE BRUUUH!
ゲームパッドだと操作しにくく、難易度Easyでも難しい この手のゲームが得意ではないのでクリアできそうにない グラフィックはそこそこ良い
I really want to give this game a positive review but the devs clearly don't understand how to make the Danmaku aspects of the game work with the rest of the game. First i'd like to say the art style is great and the devs really know the lore of Touhou the story can be a little fan fictiony at times but that part of the charm. But the The boss fights are very unfair and not fun at all. The camera angle is really bad and is the biggest problem with the boss fights. Literal all the other issues I would be forgiven if the camera was top down during the bosses. But that leads to to how unforgiving the fights are in general. There is no I-frames after being hit. Bullets can Cancel, Stun, and Knock you all at the same time. When you're shield runs out you're left to just hide or dodge, unable to attack till it refills. I feel that making the shield part of the game is the biggest reason the Devs chose to make the bullets so harsh and they would have had a better game if they went with a life bar with health pickups or even just a 1 hit KO with lives. I really wish i could recommend this game but unless the devs fix the camera i cannot.
不推荐,有些粗糙的游戏设计和有年代感的模型很劝退,存档点形同虚设 非要玩的话推荐妖梦、小伞、白莲三个自机,L难度全靠超模DLC过的
Cleared the game on Hard. Rating: 3/5 TL:DR fans of twin stick shooters should try this, and Touhou Project fans have a lot to chew on here both gameplay-wise and thematically and should play it through to the end. If you don't care at all about Touhou, though, you're not missing much if you skip it. When this game clicks, it can be a very satisfying bullet hell + twin stick shooter hybrid. The character variety is the main selling point here, supporting a number of different playstyles where each character feels like they have a strong niche...in the stages, that is. There's a nice variety of enemy types, with new ones being introduced basically right up until the last stage. While most stages are linear affairs, they're broken up with enough event-type stages and boss fights to not get stale. The problem is those boss fights, though - it's clear that many of them needed a second design pass that they just didn't get, as the quality there sharply increases as the game goes on. The final boss is the one that feels the most fair, which is really strange. I found myself settling on a single dominant strategy: Marisa + some character that deals high damage at close range (for me this was Byakuren). This didn't make the bosses easy, just manageable. Tenshi - the main character - is basically unusable for a lot of the bosses which feels like a huge oversight. Honestly, I recommend dropping the difficulty to Normal rather than the recommended Hard unless you are already a fan of hard games and don't mind grinding the same boss over and over for a couple hours. Story-wise, tDoG actually is aiming much higher than it first appears; its thematic core is wrestling with how dominant "fanon" is in people's understanding of what Touhou Project even is, and whether that is something to be embraced or rejected - while presenting a lot of nuances in-between. It's no NieR, but I found it to be pretty thought-provoking as someone who has been a Touhou fan since my teens. I was fully invested in the ending choice by the time I got there - pretty impressive for a fan game (seemingly) written by one person. (Unfortunately, the translation also gets rougher and rougher the later in the game you get, which can really take the wind out of the sails of the story if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.) I overall enjoyed the game and am happy I played it, but there's a lot of rough edges and frustrations to be had here. In this case, though, I was more than willing to look past those and see the labor of love beneath.
A Touhou doujin game that strikes a great balance between being too easy/repetitive and being brutally difficult. This is basically New World but better in every single way, and I've only just started playing it. It also goes on sale for less than two bucks fairly often, and from what I've heard this is a relatively lengthy game, so there's many opportunities to jump in and get more than your money's worth. Also, Touhou stories all feel like they're written by some guy with autism doing speed, and this game's story is no exception. I'm not complaining.
