About
You are in the backseat of your parent's car during a long drive. As your parents begin fighting, your hand-held game is your only source of entertainment. But the game begins to mirror real life... Collect items on your hand-held game to send them to your world, and use them to defend against the monstrosity that's trying to make its way in.
The Deadseat includes a terrifying, short Main Campaign, and a Hard Mode which continues the story at a horrifying level of difficulty.
Your drive home from grandma's is interrupted by an unexpected detour. Play a hand-held game in the backseat as your parent's drive.
Your hand-held game is beginning to mirror reality... Supplies you collect in the game will be sent to the backseat.
A deadly monstrosity wants to join you in the backseat. Juggle your supplies and defend all sides. In this car, there’s only onwards to drive, and nowhere to run.
The story tackles themes of escapism and a difficult childhood. Your parents can't get along, and you can’t ignore it, no matter how deep you immerse yourself in your game. If only you could get away from it all and escape to somewhere better... And seemingly, the voice in your game says you can.
Continue the Story in a far more challenging difficulty. One life, faster monster, remixed levels, No mercy.
Battle through 8 unique presets (or go fully custom) as you battle many different challenges, from the game's easiest difficulty to it's hardest possible settings. Customize your character, your enemy, and your environment, and see if you can unlock all the hidden lore...

This game is really good! There were several moments in the game where my heart was genuinely racing, and the story was shocking and enthralling. The final hardmode boss took me so long. This game is short but great!

Fun for a quick indie game though I didn't find the gameplay engaging enough to want to try challenge mode. The RPG bits feel a bit slow especially when having to re-do it so many times cause the last level of hard mode took me several tries, it'd be nice if your character moved just a bit faster. The controls are almost perfect though I feel when the demon is behind you it's harder to deal with and not by intentional design, your camera has more distance to turn, so the turn happens much faster and doesn't give you the same split second to tell if it's a red-eyed variant or not before you're ready to flash him. When I accidentally flashed a red, that was the area it happened most, something to give a quick indication before you have the chance to flash would be nice, perhaps a rear-view mirror giving you a reflection so you can see beforehand would've been a good idea? The story is pretty vague and some of the details confuse me...
How did a child think eating his parents was a good idea and devour two adults in two days?? I guess the demon was possessing him to do this? I thought perhaps he never actually killed his parents but the demon made him think he did to try and keep him from wanting to leave, but I'm not really sure of anything. It's just a little too on the vague side but it's very short so I suppose that was necessary to keep it interesting.
Short, but fantastic and really engaging. I picked it up for like 5 bucks, and no regrets.
Deadseat
Wonderfull and really short game
Simple game with astounding levels of fear! Easy to follow story for those who don't like to go too in depth, but a world of possibility for those who like to theorize, as well as having multiple levels of difficulty and seperate endings for each level, making people from causual to complitionist satisfied with how far they got, as well as a whole world that fits into the 8-bit asthstetic while keeping an easy visual for reality. Overall a wonderful game for the price!
Realistic depiction of my parents fighting irl XD
Very Good Indie game, you should make more of these types of games.
