About
An "indie gem" - a unique game based on the novel by screenwriter, Jake Stephen Jackson - brought to life in a brand new experience. Sven, Kate and Chariot are characters you will never forget as they join you on your quest throughout the Milky Way Galaxy to bring an end to the Progenitor War.
New! For game preservation purposes, we've updated the game to include the 'Director's Cut' materials, that was cut from the planned Remaster before we released REMAKE. Director's Cut is future proofed to run on Windows 11 24H2 and beyond by using Voodoo wrapper and we have replaced the incompatible engine that the original game was using before.
With whole new areas and cinematic animated backdrops that resemble the Remake, this is the definitive version of The Dawning Clocks of Time (Original).

The Dawning Clocks Of Time – Director's Cut is a science-fiction role-playing game developed and published by Spacefarer R&D Ltd. that aims far beyond the expectations typically associated with independent RPG projects. Set against the backdrop of a galaxy-spanning conflict, the game blends turn-based combat, exploration, character-driven storytelling, and strategic progression into a lengthy adventure that explores themes of war, destiny, sacrifice, and human survival. The Director's Cut serves as the definitive version of the experience, featuring restored content, additional locations, visual improvements, and numerous enhancements designed to fully realize the developers' original vision. From the beginning, the game establishes an ambitious scope. Rather than focusing on a single world or isolated conflict, it presents an expansive interstellar setting where entire civilizations stand on the brink of catastrophe. The story follows a group of central characters whose personal struggles become inseparable from a larger war that threatens humanity's future. Political conspiracies, ancient mysteries, military conflicts, and emotional relationships are woven together into a narrative that consistently attempts to balance intimate character moments with galaxy-wide stakes. This dual focus gives the story a unique flavor, allowing it to function as both a personal drama and an epic space opera. One of the game's strongest qualities is its world-building. The universe feels remarkably large thanks to the variety of locations, factions, and cultures encountered throughout the adventure. Different planets, settlements, and regions contribute to a setting that encourages exploration and discovery. The game takes time to establish the history of its world, explaining the forces behind the ongoing conflict while introducing lore that expands the scale of the narrative. Players who enjoy immersing themselves in fictional universes will find a considerable amount of information to uncover as they progress through the campaign. The combat system adopts a traditional turn-based structure that prioritizes planning and tactical decision-making. Battles require players to manage resources, utilize character abilities effectively, and exploit enemy weaknesses whenever possible. While the mechanics are accessible enough for newcomers, they contain enough depth to remain engaging throughout the lengthy campaign. Character skills, weapon choices, and party composition all play important roles in determining success. The futuristic setting also allows for a variety of energy weapons, advanced technology, and specialized abilities that help distinguish combat from more conventional fantasy RPGs. Character progression is handled through a robust system of upgrades, equipment, and skill development. As players gain experience and acquire better gear, their party becomes increasingly capable of handling tougher encounters. The steady flow of new abilities and equipment helps maintain a rewarding sense of advancement. Every major milestone feels meaningful because it opens additional tactical possibilities and strengthens the player's connection to the characters. The progression system successfully supports the game's long runtime by continually providing incentives to keep moving forward. A particularly appealing aspect of The Dawning Clocks Of Time is the balance between structured storytelling and player freedom. While the main narrative provides a clear direction, players are also encouraged to explore optional content and engage with side activities. This combination of linear and sandbox-inspired design gives the adventure a broader sense of scale. Exploration never feels entirely disconnected from the central story, and optional content often contributes additional lore, rewards, or character development that enriches the overall experience. The Director's Cut improvements significantly enhance the package. Additional content, restored material, new environments, and upgraded presentation elements help create a more complete version of the game. Animated cinematic backdrops and visual enhancements improve immersion while preserving the spirit of the original release. These additions make the Director's Cut feel less like a simple reissue and more like a carefully refined edition intended to showcase the game at its best. Visually, the game demonstrates creativity despite operating within the limitations of an independent budget. The combination of traditional RPG presentation, science-fiction environments, and cinematic storytelling techniques helps establish a memorable identity. The developers clearly prioritize atmosphere and world-building over technical spectacle, and the result is a game that succeeds through artistic ambition rather than cutting-edge graphics. The environments effectively communicate the scale of the conflict while reinforcing the sense of adventure that drives the narrative. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the game is the passion evident throughout its design. Every major system reflects a desire to create a grand science-fiction epic filled with memorable characters, dramatic conflicts, and meaningful exploration. This ambition occasionally results in rough edges, whether in pacing, balance, or production values, but it also gives the game a unique charm. It feels like a project created by developers deeply invested in their world and eager to share it with players. The narrative benefits from its focus on relationships as much as its larger themes. While interstellar warfare and political intrigue provide the framework for the story, the emotional core comes from the interactions between characters. Friendships, romances, betrayals, and sacrifices carry genuine weight because the game dedicates time to developing its cast. These personal connections help ground the larger conflict and ensure that the stakes feel more than purely abstract. The Dawning Clocks Of Time – Director's Cut ultimately succeeds as a heartfelt and ambitious science-fiction RPG that offers considerably more depth than its modest appearance might suggest. Its combination of expansive storytelling, tactical combat, exploration, character progression, and extensive world-building creates an adventure capable of satisfying players who appreciate classic role-playing design. While it may not possess the polish of major studio productions, it compensates with creativity, scope, and a clear passion for the genre. For fans of traditional RPGs, intergalactic adventures, and story-driven experiences, The Dawning Clocks Of Time – Director's Cut delivers a rewarding journey filled with memorable characters, strategic battles, and a richly imagined universe that remains engaging from beginning to end.
what I can say about the dawning clocks of time. it is easy to play and it is easy to learn how to play, the intro of the game, animation graphics, combat, and storyline etc.. are amazing I really liked those, also the rune feature to gain more ability skill something is amazing I will play it again and maybe even finish the story of the game because it's really good
I'm amazed I hadn't heard of this game until now. I happened to see the demo, tried it, and immediately bought it. Good sci-fi RPGs are a rarity, and the writing and soundtrack in this game are top notch.
