More of a joke, than a game. Very short, not very logical, weak plot, poorly drawn and have offensive ending. Not worth the time.
short and sweet! S2 would really love a longer version of this or some sort of part 2 :)
I would like to give The Dark Prophecy a positive review because I am under the impression that the developer(s) really put their heart and soul into it and made it because the wanted to make a game and not only some money, but I can’t. I will say here that you might like to buy the game (at a discount) for a younger player that has not seen too many games yet. They might struggle with some of the riddles – please see below – but are I believe likely to be an audience that enjoys the game overall. While the graphics are nicely done, even lovely, the game mechanics is average at best, forcing you to circle through the three options of interacting with the world constantly. Most riddles are nice and clear, the problem arises there where you have hunch on what to do and miss something. For example, to later in the game it becomes clear that you have to help in the kitchen BUT you only get that option after you have talked to a prisoner and THEN to a servant. If you have talked to the servant several times before you might not get the idea to do it again and run around all over the place trying to find something to get the interaction in the kitchen going… All in all there are no hints from your character if you are approaching something with the right idea but not with the right angle. The other thing is the story. It is literally Fantasy 101 and it knows that. It therefor makes fun of the tropes on itself BUT not nearly enough… which at least to me felt a little flat. So as said in the introduction: It might be nice for younger players/children but if you have played some of these games, I think you will be disappointed/not very thrilled.
First and foremost, let's talk about the story. The Dark Prophecy weaves a tale of magic, intrigue, and destiny that kept me hooked from start to finish. As the protagonist, I felt like a true hero embarking on an epic quest to unravel ancient mysteries and confront dark forces. The writing is top-notch, with vivid descriptions and well-developed characters that breathe life into the world. But what truly sets The Dark Prophecy apart is its immersive gameplay. From exploring lush forests to delving into mysterious dungeons, every moment is filled with excitement and discovery. The game strikes the perfect balance between exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving, keeping me engaged and entertained throughout. Visually, The Dark Prophecy is a feast for the eyes. The environments are beautifully rendered, with stunning landscapes and intricate details that make every location feel alive. The character designs are equally impressive, with diverse races and creatures that add depth to the world. And let's not forget about the music. The Dark Prophecy boasts a breathtaking soundtrack that perfectly complements the atmosphere of the game. From stirring orchestral melodies to haunting chants, the music adds an extra layer of immersion that truly enhances the experience. In conclusion, The Dark Prophecy is a must-play for any fan of fantasy RPGs. With its gripping story, immersive gameplay, and stunning visuals, it's a game that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this epic adventure.
I really wanted to like it but... I just couldnt :/ The graphics are ok and there are some parts I did like, but all in all it's not enough to recommend. First it's too short. Then the translation isnt as clean as it should. And finally it still has too many bugs. At this point it would either need more content or a professional polish on what's there. Sorry.
A quick point-and-click adventure game, "The Dark Prophecy" is a cute short game that's entertaining enough for a couple hours of gaming. The most frustrating part is half the interactable objects prove to be pointless even though the flavor text occasionally acts like it could be used for a future puzzle. It makes me wonder if an alternative ending was planned in which you could defy the prophecy instead of the abrupt main ending.
