A game developer is killed in his castle by a stone gargoyle that has fallen on him. Passion? Money? Or even an ancient curse? What caused such a strange death and the detective and his faithful dog Cleo have to find out. We will play as both characters, and if the detective has to sniff out secrets from suspects, then Cleo will sniff out everything that is not visible to the ordinary eye (including her favorite goodies, of course). The game is not trying to play up, but is what it is - a classic detective story. You are looking for clues, gradually split the suspects, learning more and more about the dark secrets of this castle. I really liked the pace and the manner of development of the story, which the creators chose. Again, the game is short, but not once in 2 hours was there a slack plot or aimless wandering in search of some small detail. And what I liked even more is that the detective work here is really an investigation, and not plot twists that fall out of nowhere. Everything is very consistent, logical and methodical, and you come to the final “Gather them all in one room so that I can loudly poke a finger at the culprit” with a whole bunch of knowledge and evidence. This allows you to feel the ending, I don't know, fair and realistic or something. In addition, the game also offers the player to entertain themselves with secondary activities - like finding all the collectible goodies for Cleo or hunting for the treasure hidden somewhere in this castle (which was especially fun), which will change the ending of the game. I really hope that this game is the beginning of the exciting adventures of this detective couple, and we will meet them more than once!

I bought this because I enjoy point-and-click pixel graphics and I wanted to support Canadian (Quebecois!) devs. While the concept itself is interesting, I can't quite recommend this game for a variety of reasons - The length: while this isn't necessarily a deal breaker, Murder Is Game Over feels like more of a demo than an actual game. It took me about an hour to finish. - The story: Again, while the IDEA is good, the execution is subpar and lacks refinement. The characters aren't fleshed out, the jokes fall flat, and the dialogue is bland. I knew who the culprit was maybe 10min into the game. I thought it was an obvious red herring, but, no, it was quite clear just based on what you find and what the characters say to you. This affected my motivation to care about the cast, their backgrounds, and, ultimately, the crime itself. The story is linear, there are no stakes, and you are told what to do next without prompting despite having a "hint" option. - Interface: I appreciate the concept of being able to switch from the dog to the detective. However, it got tedious after a while, especially when the dog was the only one able to find clues while the detective was the only one who could ask questions. It just seemed like an unnecessary chore. Additionally, not being able to use WASD to move around was annoying. I would constantly find myself about to press the buttons just to realize that the only thing I could do was switch from dog to human with the S key. Yes, the mouse can be used, but it isn't very smooth and some things require multiple clicks before the game registers what you've pressed. The menu is also clunky, a bit confusing, and not very useful. I hope the devs use this feedback to create another, similar game, but with some serious improvements.

Die Todesursache lautet Tod durch einer heruntergefallenen Gargoyle Statue. Wir spielen Detective Guy & unseren Treuen Hund Cleo und müssen den Tod bzw. die Ursache auf den Grund gehen [h1] Gameplay [/h1] Wir laufen durch das Anwesen & Umgebung und können jederzeit zwischen den beiden Charakteren hin & her switchen. Als Guy können wir mit Personen interagieren und verschiedene Fragen stellen & als Cleo können wir versteckte Hinweise & Beweise in der Spielwelt finden. Das Spiel ist kurz gehalten und recht Linear aber man hat schon seine Freiheiten. Ziel des Spiels ist es genug Beweise zu finden um am Ende dann den Täter zu überführen. Wir können auch noch kleine Nebenaufgaben erledigen wie z.B. Hundeleckerlies finden oder eine Schatzsuche starten, was uns weitere Endings einbringt. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr gut gelungen & auch die Musik trägt gut zur Stimmung bei [h1] Achievement Schwierigkeit 2/10 [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 12 Erfolge. Man bekommt so gut wie alle beim durchspielen wenn man alles erkundet und mit allen NPCs interagiert. Die beiden Erfolge für die Extra Endings sind auch nicht wirklich schwer zu bekommen, man muss lediglich 30 Hundeleckerlies finden (diese kann man nicht übersehen) & die Schatzsuche beenden [h1] Pro/Contra [/h1] + Gute Story + Gutes Gameplay + Gute Atmosphäre + Musik ist Ordentlich + Achievements + XBox 360 Controller Support [h1] Fazit [/h1] Ein sehr gut gemachtes Murder Mystery Adventure. Das Spiel hat mich sehr Positiv überrascht und hat mich auch gleich von Beginn an in seinen Bann gezogen. Ich bin ja ein Riesen Fan von Murder Mystery & Detective Adventures und diese Spiel hat genau alles getroffen was ich so gerne an dem Genre mag. Ich kann es jedem Fan vom Genre definitiv sehr Empfehlen. This game needs more reviews. This is a fun murder mystery whodunnit, where you play as a detective lead around by your canine friend as she sniffs out clues, you talk to suspects and then figure everything out for the big detective reveal of the culprit. If one just focuses on that, the game could be done in about an hour or so. I went and found all 30 collectibles and went on the treasure hunt so it took me a couple hours. There are manual save slots and other than S to change characters and ESC to access the casefile/saves/menu, everything can be done with a mouse. I thought the price was fair and the game was interesting and fun way to spend a lazy afternoon. I’ve already wish listed the next game and will happily buy the new mystery to solve.

*** This was by far one of the best true DETECTIVE games I've ever played! Almost everything about it was great. Lots of characters, lots of locations, good dialog, an actual mystery to solve, clues to be found, secret passages and riddles, a map and that classic 8 bit graphic look! The only downside was replacing the classic WASD with the arrow keys no ability to remap the keys! Otherwise this was one of the best games I've ever played and I've played probably a thousand of them! Absolutely loved every minute of it!!! Wish it were longer and that's a compliment. Can't wait to see what's next from these incredibly gifted and talented developers!!!!! PS Yes, the damn New Yorkers are buying everything up and the rest of us all h8 it!

Après avoir parcouru les évaluations steam, je m’attendais à passer un très bon mais court moment à tenter de résoudre une énigme pas piquée des hannetons. Mais finalement, c’était un jeu court certes, mais plutôt plat et ennuyeux. L’intrigue est basique. Les énigmes décevantes. Les personnages assez ennuyeux. Et la mécanique de jeu est loin d’être celle d’un jeu d’enquête. C’est un jeu narratif qu’il faut suivre sans trop réfléchir. Et à la fin, un questionnaire permettra de vérifier si vous avez tout compris. Et sans vous pénaliser en cas d’erreur, sans vous noter non plus. Les succès font croire à des fins cachées si on découvre le trésor et tous les biscuits pour chien. C’est peut-être vrai, ou pas. J’ai découvert ces éléments, j’ai débloqué les succès mais ca ne m’a rajouté que deux répliques. Le jeu est traduit en partie en français. Certains textes, même dans les menus, restent en anglais.

This was an awesome game experience that did not overstay its welcome! Don't forget to save before the end so you can easily grab the other endings ;) Hopefully, we'll get to see more of Cleo and Detective Guy's adventures in the near future,

Oyunun dili başlarda sade olsa da daha sonralarda cinayeti çözdüğümüz için biraz ağır olabiliyor. Oyun zor bir oyun değil. Sizi yönlendiriyor. En sonra cinayeti çözerken bile yanlış bir şey işaretlenirse tekrardan seçme imkanı veriyor size. Çok çok iyi bir oyun olmasa da konu bakımından güzel, çok fazla uzun olmayan, kafa dağıtmak için oynanılabilecek kısa ama güzel bir oyun olmuş. 74/100

Лайк за старания, а так слегка очевидный исход, а при получении улик тем более и всё из - за механики игры, где нельзя обвинять не виновных в чём - либо. Для получения всех достижений не спешите делать заключение расследования не прочесав каждый закоулок игры. Не кто Вас подгонять не будет и накосячить не дадут. Есть русский язык, но орфография желает быть лучше. Геймплей: собакой собираем улики, а человек их озвучивает и контактирует с НПС на этом всё.
